One of my favorite parts of this work is watching student-athletes begin to recognize their potential beyond athletics.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of connecting with student-athletes at the University of Missouri-Saint Louis through our Next Season Program, exploring identity beyond sports, recognizing transferable skills, and preparing for opportunities beyond the game.

On October 29th, Athlete Transition Services will bring together DPSCD high school student-athletes for the DPSCD Student-Athlete Career Bridge Experience!

A day focused on career exploration, professional development, networking, and connecting student-athletes with real opportunities beyond sports.

Special thanks to Wayne County Community College District for hosting, Detroit Public Schools Community District Public School League for their continued partnership, and the NBA Foundation for helping make this experience possible!

We’re still looking for sponsors and volunteers to help us make this event even more impactful!

ATS headed out west this week! ✈️

We had an incredible time bringing our Next Season Program to the University of San Diego and the University of Nevada, Reno, helping student-athletes prepare for success beyond their playing careers.

A huge thank you to Mya Johnson M.A., Jonathan Curran, MBA, Kim Gross, Will Bush, and their athletic departments, for welcoming us and investing in the future of their student-athletes.

Special appreciation to Captains Jillian Ratinaud and Paige Rose for partnering and sharing valuable lessons on leadership, discipline, resilience, and the importance of being prepared for whatever comes next.

Every campus visit reinforces why we do this work. Sports may be a chapter in these young people’s lives, but the skills, relationships, and opportunities they develop along the way can shape their futures.

The game will eventually end, but their next season is just beginning!

Thank you Signe Coombs, Boyd Michelle, and Truman State Athletics for hosting our Next Season Program yesterday! It was a pleasure spending the day with such dedicated coaches and administrators and engaging with Bulldog student-athletes as we helped them prepare for life after sports.

When the game ended, I had to learn that my purpose didn’t.

For a long time, football wasn’t just what I did, it was how I saw myself. Finding purpose beyond the game was a journey.

Appreciate ATHERA for giving me the space to share this part of my story, and a special thank you to Principal Shannan Richardson for welcoming me back to Henry Ford HS to shoot this conversation. 🙏🏾

University of Wisconsin-Parkside Athletics for welcoming us this week. We really enjoyed connecting with the student-athletes, coaches, and staff and having great conversations about preparing for life beyond sports.

Athlete Transition Services is excited to share an important leadership update involving our Executive Director, Jonathan Orr.

Jonathan has officially taken on the additional role of CEO of BluChip, a career-focused technology platform built specifically for student-athletes. Jonathan will continue serving as Executive Director of ATS and leading the mission and work we have built.

As ATS continues to grow, one of our greatest opportunities is finding new ways to reach more athletes, provide more career resources, and extend our impact beyond the programs and experiences we deliver in person.

Technology will play an important role in that growth.

While ATS and BluChip are separate organizations, there is tremendous alignment between the two. Moving forward, BluChip’s technology will be an integral part of ATS’s strategy to expand our reach, provide more career resources, and create a deeper and more sustained impact for the athletes we serve.

We’re excited about what this next chapter means for ATS and our ability to support more athletes on a much larger scale.

Thank you to our partners, supporters, schools, and communities for continuing to believe in our mission. We look forward to sharing more about what’s ahead.
