I grew up a farm girl in rural Carrington and have lived in Mandan for the past 23 years. I hold national certifications including Professional in Human Resources (PHR) from the Human Resource Certification Inst
itute and SHRM-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) from the Society of Human Resource Management Services. I serve as the HR Director at the Office of State Tax Commissioner, have 20 years of experience in public service, and am a member of ND United. As a leader in the HR network I serve on a number of statewide committees to advance best practice and work as one. For the past several years I have served, and continue to serve on, the Statewide Job Evaluation Committee, HR Business Partner Community of Practice, HR Total Rewards Community of Practice and Learning & Development Community of Practice. Additionally, I’ve served on various Compensation Task Forces and am an instructor for the Leadership Everywhere course “Navigating Change”. I am passionate about protecting the benefits and retirement plans of our members. As a PERS Trustee for the past 10 years I have navigated many RFP processes and have a thorough understanding of our benefit programs. The fiduciary responsibilities of a PERS Trustee are legal obligations that I have never taken lightly. As a fiduciary I stand by the duties of 1) Loyalty - Maintain a duty of loyalty to the members, 2) Care - Exercise sound judgment for the benefit of all members, and 3) Prudence - Remain diligent to ensure that decisions are thoughtfully made,
