Out with the old and in with the new!

This homeowner’s existing wooden retaining wall had deteriorated over time and was ready for a complete rebuild. We removed the old wall and rebuilt it with new pressure-treated lumber, following the slope of the property for a clean, sturdy finish.

One step closer to a finished backyard!

This homeowner is in the middle of building out their new back porch and called Duke of Dirt to take care of the pavers. We installed 140 sq. ft. of pavers around the new porch, creating a clean border and adding even more usable space to the area.

Years of rain and runoff had taken a toll on this backyard, creating deep washouts and trenches that left the yard uneven and difficult to use.

We brought in clean fill dirt to fill the major washouts, regraded the area, and smoothed everything out to give the homeowner a more even, usable backyard. Now the area is ready for seed and a fresh start.

One step closer to a finished backyard 👏

After having a brand-new pool installed, this homeowner was ready to get the surrounding yard prepped for the finishing touch: sod.

The pool installation left roughly a 4–5 inch elevation difference between the new concrete and the existing grade. We brought in high-quality screened topsoil, backfilled around the pool area, and graded everything out to create a smooth transition and a solid base for sod.

FROM SLOPED YARD ➜ FAMILY BACKYARD

We started by grading and leveling the backyard to create a clean, usable space. From there, we built out a dedicated playground area, graded a terrace for a fire pit, brought in 20 tons of topsoil, installed four pallets of Tahoma 31 sod, and built the fire pit to complete the centerpiece of the yard.

This project isn’t finished just yet. We’ll be back this week to install two more pallets of Tahoma 31 sod and fresh mulch to put the finishing touches on this transformation.
