Believe it or not this helmet started out with a well worn yellow color. A quick paint strip and leather seasoning followed up with some new gloss white paint and a hand painted underbrim paint job as well as some new brass. This helmet is now back to riding the fire trucks again in style!!

Pt2 to the last post

This one was purchased as a replacement helmet for the damaged one, a little bit of TLC and some new decals turned this helmet from a no to a yes!! And for those asking even though it’s old yes it is still in service

We took on this project to see if we could repair the Ben Franklin unfortunately the helmet was no longer allowed to be used so it became a wall hanger. By far one of the hardest challenges to overcome but all in all it turned out decent. (The damaged photos are from when this poor helmet got ran over on the highway).
