Maven Leather + Design Leather from the Future. Handcrafted on the Coast of California. Maven Leather designs are HANDMADE ONE BY ONE in California.

We use minimally-processed, full grain leather hides that have their natural markings and character left in tact. We believe these markings are beautiful just like the ones on our own bodies. Most designs are ONE OF A KIND -- handcrafted by the designer on the Central Coast.

nment. More often than not, these hides were tanned in Maine. Some go on to be PLANT DYED in the Maven studio using organic materials like bark, insects, roots and leaves.

I wanted to give you a little backstory on my most recent collection. Lately, I've been really inspired by the imperfections I'm finding on my hides. I'm realizing that this concept of mending is actually a larger metephor for life and it feels really good to take something that would otherwise be considered "damage" and turn it into something beautiful, intriguing and stronger than it was before. Indigo is not like other dyes. It doesn’t soak in so much as it builds, layering itself onto the fibers in translucent washes. Dip, lift, breathe, repeat.
