Hey, did you all know that there are 4 parts when filing a complaint against the District or the SEA?

1. File the complaint with evidence & send copy to District
2. SEA sends Notification Letter to District and cc's a copy to Parent
3. In the Notification Letter is gives the Date the District has to Respond to your complaint and send you a copy.
4. 60 days later, the SEAs Findings/Letter of Resolution, that may or may not include Corrective Action.

I think I need to do a video on each one of the 4 moving parts of the special education complaint process, would you all like a video on that topic? Let me know below, I'm doing it anyway cuz you all need this information. lol, Please share post to your groups, parents of children with disabilities, and other interested parties.

Thanks for reading.

📣 Important Reminder for Parents: The Significance of Prior Written Notice (PWN)

Be cautious of school districts and others who may prioritize their own agendas over your child’s educational needs. Sometimes, they create rules, policies, and procedures that are not aligned with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) or that place unnecessary restrictions on parents and students.

One common practice that districts might use is related to Prior Written Notice (PWN), specified in 34 CFR 300.503. This crucial component of IDEA requires schools to provide parents with a formal notice when they propose or change a student's placement or when parents make specific requests for educational services, among other things under that law.

It’s important to know that while IDEA does not lay out a strict timeline for the district to provide a PWN, the longer it takes for them to issue this notice, the greater the risk of violating a student’s right to a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE). Delays can lead to serious implications for your child’s educational rights and serious consequences for the District.

If you haven't received a PWN or feel that it's been improperly handled, I can help you document your situation to show how this may constitute a denial of FAPE.

🚨 Urgent Announcement! 🚨

Have you ever felt trapped by organizations that intentionally keep you in the dark about how to transition from a collaborative approach to a more proactive one? The world of public education doesn't want you to know how to advocate for your rights because it thrives on keeping you isolated and under control, all while ensuring the money keeps flowing.

But it’s time to take back your power! Knowing how to file a state complaint against a District and the SEA levels the playing field, and just having that knowledge can empower parents like never before.

I can show you how to file a comprehensive complaint, which accomplishes two important things: it demonstrates to the District that you are informed and willing to take action, even if the outcome isn’t guaranteed. This knowledge alone may pressure them to act responsibly and uphold the laws they are obligated to follow.

Together, we have the potential to make a real impact! We are on a mission to reach 1 million followers, and with this united force, we can become a powerful advocate for every family facing challenges with their District and the SEA that do not comply with IDEA regulations.

I’m here to lead you through this crucial process! 🌟
