At NYC Climate Week, I went on my first “plog” — jogging while picking up litter — with the team at New York Road Runners.

One compostable bag fuller, one block cleaner, and genuinely joyful.

It was also a small proof of something I thought about all week: the most powerful climate action is often the most ordinary.

Walk. Bike. Run. Every one of those choices keeps carbon out of the air — and a plog adds a cleaner, more resilient neighborhood on top. A whole community moving together.

That’s the heart of what we’re building at Creation Care and Springclean climate action that’s joyful, local, and for everyone.

So I’m bringing the idea home — who’s up for a plogging + clothing take-back run in Charlotte?

Grateful to Aly, Lou, Micah and New York Road Runners and Green Sports Alliance for the inspiration.
