What if better communication, deeper relationships, and more confidence started with two simple words: “Yes, And”?

In this episode, I sit down with improviser, speaker, and podcast host Dayna Gowan from to talk about the surprising ways improv can transform our everyday lives — from conversations and friendships to parenting, creativity, and self-confidence.

We explore:
✨ Why adults lose touch with play
✨ How improv helps us stop overthinking
✨ The power of listening without trying to “fix”
✨ Why connection matters more than perfection
✨ How saying “Yes, And” can change the way you approach life

This conversation was full of laughter, wisdom, and practical insights that I know will stay with me for a long time. Dayna’s energy is contagious, and this episode is such a beautiful reminder that we don’t have to have all the answers to show up authentically.

Ever feel like dating apps are just... exhausting?
Swiping, chatting, wondering if the vibe will translate IRL... it's a lot.
That's why I created Maybe Tonight - a singles mixer where you can actually feel the energy in the room, laugh at someone's jokes in real time, and see if there's a spark without the endless back-and-forth.
Here's what to expect: a relaxed, welcoming vibe, plenty of other singles in their 30s-40s who are also over the apps, fun icebreakers so there's no awkward standing around, and the chance to meet multiple people in one night.
And honestly? Even if you don't meet "the one," you'll have a great time and probably make some new friends. That's a win in my book.
Saturday, May 30 at 6:30pm
Ages 30-45

We talk a lot about physical health and mental health. But what about your social health?
Kasley Killam's 5-3-1 Connection Plan is one of the simplest, most science-backed frameworks I've found for building a more connected life. Five people a week, three close relationships a month, one hour a day of meaningful connection. That's it.
It's not about being more extroverted or overhauling your schedule. It's about being a little more intentional with the time and people you already have.
Which number feels hardest for you right now? the 5, the 3, or the 1? Tell me below.

The people in your life who seem to have effortless friendships? They're not just lucky. They've quietly built habits that most of us were never taught. Save this one for when you need the reminder. 💗

We can all be a bit lonely sometimes (even when we're among others!). It's about taking the risk: of putting yourself out there, of saying that you want to go deeper, of being vulnerable with someone. It can be a bit scary but in the end, it's a risk worth taking!

When people show up alone at one of our friend-matching events, a lot of time it can feel intimidating and scary. They're taking a risk by putting themselves out there, but soon they are met with a warm welcome, a goofy ice breaker, and some welcoming smiles from other event participants. The reward of potentially walking out with a new friend is worth the fear and initial awkwardness.
I've seen it again and again when hosting these events!

Nobody taught us how to make friends as adults. We were just supposed to figure it out. 🤍
But friendship researcher Shasta Nelson spent years studying what actually makes friendships go deep — and she found it comes down to three things working together: positivity, consistency, and vulnerability.
Swipe through to learn what each one means, which one most people skip (hint: it's slide 4), and what happens when all three finally click.
Save this one. Your friendships are worth understanding.
And if you're ready to practice in real life, come find us. Filled Cups exists so you don't have to build your village alone. 🌸

Some conversations stay with you long after they end… and this was one of them. 🤍

This week on Connectedness, I sat down with divorce coach and speaker Paula Lesso for a deeply honest conversation about identity, healing, self-trust, and what it means to rebuild your life after everything changes.

We talked about:
✨ The stages of divorce and emotional transition
✨ Losing yourself in relationships
✨ Learning to trust your inner voice again
✨ The fear of starting over
✨ Moving from survival mode into joy and alignment
✨ Why healing is both emotional and physical

Paula shares her own journey—from being “comfortable” in her marriage to rediscovering herself and helping other women do the same.

Whether you’re navigating a divorce, questioning your next chapter, or simply learning how to reconnect with yourself again, this episode is filled with compassion, wisdom, and hope.
