1. NEVER insert the pejorative (the negative/accusation when you disagree with it). People can--and often do--misinterpret it as the person's actual opinion.

Hot topic: I believe messaging can get anyone through any interview. Let this be a lesson that you can never out run your past and you should always be prepared with messaging for every interview even if the topic is slated to only cover rainbows and sunshine.

I cannot believe Bill Clinton was unprepared with a Monica Lewinsky question in light of the movement. Shame on his PR and Communications team.

If the people around you are always agreeing, you're not surrounding yourself with the right people. Healthy tension, dialogue and push back are necessary to achieve unimaginable results and avoid devastating mistakes. It's amazing how many people will go along with an idea because it's easy or they don't want to upset someone--or worse, they're just lazy. Are you surrounding yourself with the right people?
