Paul's image of the Body of Christ in 1 Corinthians 12 is one of the most practically important passages in all of Scripture.
Every member has a function. Not the impressive members. Not the visible members. Not the members with the largest platform or the most impressive giftedness.
Every. Member.
The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you." The head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you." On the contrary, the members that seem weaker are indispensable.
The church that has fully functioning members at every level β from the most visible teacher to the most hidden helper β is the church that is positioned to do what the Body was designed to do.
And the disciple who understands that their function β whatever it is, however hidden, however unglamorous β is genuinely necessary to the whole, is a disciple who will never feel unimportant in the Kingdom.
You are not optional. The Body needs what you carry.
