✨ Take Back Control of Your Social Media! ✨
It’s easy to get frustrated and overwhelmed by what we see on social media each day. Studies are showing that social media use can lead to low self-esteem, depression, body-image issues, anxiety, social isolation...the list goes on.
The fact that social media can be a positive environment where we connect with others, learn new things, and engage with our community is often overshadowed by the negativity we see in our feeds every day.
Sometimes all we need is a little break to re-center and re-charge (pun intended!).
Here are some tips for taking control and settting boundaries of your social media to boost your overall wellness.
Grab a friend and try one of these strategies over the next few days:
📱Put your phone down and out of reach
👀 Set limits by tracking your social media time (try from social media 1 hour a day / 1 day a week / 1 week out of the year)
🤫 Turn off ALL notifications on your smartphone or enable the “Do Not Disturb” feature
🙅🏻♀️ Set “Smartphone Free Zones” at home, during mealtime, etc.
😴 Limit smartphone use before bed (bright lights and technology can prevent you from getting a good night’s sleep)
❌ Delete social media apps from your phone and only keep them on a laptop or tablet
☀️ Spend time in nature without checking or posting to social media!
