Tuesday job report: this is what I keep finding in gable vents this month — nesting material packed in, insulation chewed up behind it.
The animal is only half the job. If I don't seal that vent, something else moves in by Thanksgiving. Exclusion is the whole ballgame.

Yard check: your firewood pile might be a snake condo.

Wood piles, brush piles, and overgrown beds are perfect hiding spots for snakes. Quick fixes: stack firewood away from the house and off the ground, clear brush and debris piles, keep grass trimmed near the foundation.

Less habitat = fewer surprise visitors.

Waking up to new holes in the yard every morning? That's armadillo work. They dig for grubs and insects and can tear up a lawn overnight — flower beds too. They'll also dig
under foundations and driveways.

I trap and relocate them humanely, and I'll help you figure out what's drawing them in.

October's here — and something's going bump in the night.

Scratching in the walls. Thumps in the attic. Rustling you can't explain. Before you call the
Ghostbusters, call me. Nine times out of ten, the "haunted house" is a raccoon family.

Humane removal, sealed entry points, peaceful nights.

Tuesday tip: here's how I find entry points — go up in your attic during the day and turn off the lights.

Everywhere you see daylight peeking through, that's a hole. Gable vents with torn screens, soffit gaps where the roof meets the wall, loose flashing around the chimney — if light gets through, a squirrel or bat can too.

Some screen and an hour of your time now beats an attic colony later. Find a gap you can't handle yourself? Call me.

See ONE bat in your house? There's probably a colony in your attic.

Bats squeeze through gaps as small as 3/8 of an inch, and where there's one, there's usually dozens.

Two more reasons not to ignore them: their droppings can spread histoplasmosis, a serious lung infection — and bats can carry rabies.

I do humane bat exclusions and full guano cleanup, the safe way.
