Important notice to Jobseekers - when you are applying to a position online, double check that you are applying to a legitimate business.
Verify the web address to the application page - if you are not sure, go directly to the company’s webpage.
An employer should never ask for payment information.
I also recommend not providing DOB or SSN until hired (may not apply to some government employers).

If it doesn’t seem legit, it’s probably not.

Did you know?
When it comes to resume format, simple is better. Lose the text boxes, fancy fonts, and graphics. You want your content to stand out, not your graphics skills (unless you are a graphic designer, and even then I would likely still give the same advice).

RESUME TIP OF THE WEEK!

In most cases, it is ok to include your most recent work history only up to the last 15 years. Anything more than that is not really a value-add and unfortunately can sometimes lead to age discrimination.
There are always exceptions to every rule, so if you aren’t sure and want to discuss, I have open appointments next week!
