Stefanie Hawk Cheviot President of Council has shared this great update on some things going on around Cheviot!
As always, city council meetings are the first and third Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm and open to the public!
🏬New Developments around Cheviot!! 🏬
1. Central Station should be opening soon on Harrison!
2. Westside Exchange near the Hive Market has their first class on Oct. 21st and it’s already sold out!!
3. Former Wendy’s has sold to Hook’s Fish and Chicken
4. Former KOI – Looks like it’s under development and we’re not 100% positive but believe it will be furniture related based on ownership.
5. Former Frisches – There is a potential deal that is in development for the property.
6. Former Restore – Returning to a former use! It will once again be a Grocery Store, complete with an in-house bakery, butcher and ice cream shop.
7. Site next to DQ – In talks with to become a Moe’s Southwest Grill
8. Former JonLe – We believe it has a buyer!!
LOTS of great news for the City of Cheviot!!!
And an update on the old Sunshine Cleaners. The half-knocked down building on Harrison and Kenker Place. We would ALL love to see some movement there. The city has been working hard to try to force the owner to fix it. It’s a very complicated process due to LLCs, out of country lien holders, the primary owner currently being in prison on fraud charges, the property’s history of being a dry cleaning business meaning it needs environmental remediation that means that even if the city could take the property by declaring it a public nuisance it would cost more than we could afford to fix what needs to be fixed. All that to say, it’s taking time to unwind everything and find a workable solution, but it’s not being ignored.
