I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Stephanie Graham of the Nosey AF Podcast to talk about a journey that is incredibly special to me — how a simple craft class grew into 10 years in business with Creativiti Custom Designs and Events.

About a month ago, I received the opportunity to experience the Obama Presidential Center. It was so amazing to finally see the building after years of visioning and legal processes. It is such an asset to the community and the entire campus was filled with Black joy! We don’t have to go downtown to experience this type of history. It’s right here where I have deep roots!

Last week I had the honor of attending a meeting at City Hall with Mayor Johnson Chicago Mayor's Office on behalf of Black moms and families in Chicago as a member of the Hustle Mommies advocacy team. Day 2 of the Everything Local Conference 💚

Day 1 at the Everything Local Conference in Springfield was a great start.

As a Program Manager with the South East Chicago Commission (SECC) and an Illinois State Certified Farmers Market Manager, I had the opportunity to co-present a session titled “Build Partnerships That Power Farmers Markets and Boost Attendance” alongside Cathy McDermott, ILFMA Board Member and Interim Executive Director of Rock River Development Partnership and the Rockford Farmers Market.

The day was filled with strong conversations around marketing strategies and vendor management, plus plenty of locally grown, locally made, and truly delicious food. I wrapped up the evening at the ILFMA fundraiser and even met a new farmer friend along the way.

Grateful for the learning, the connections, and the continued opportunity to strengthen farmers markets as community and economic anchors. Day one was a success.
