In my book on Sacred Space I write about the importance of altars. Outdoor altars carry equal significance. Here's mine. It represents animals, the earth and of course the Moon. All of the stones and crystals you see I've collected while being in Africa. The purple plant is the same plant that's on the grave of our Zulu that was buried there. Passion and creativity keep me fueled, along with iced coffee :-) and st. Francis must be everywhere. The Horseshoes are from a rescue that I worked with when I lived in Arizona briefly What is on your altar?

We were in Graskop South Africa in an amazing antique store. I come upon a case with maybe 6 of these amazing stones. I inquire. The lovely woman in the store shares they are the stones women used to mill maize, you can see the ware marks from the usage. Each stone is a few hundred years old. I was so taken by the sacredness and energy. I go to purchase this perfect one. She gifts me it! # sacred.
