The snow is falling at my house and it’s so pretty this morning. ⁣

Yesterday I shared three observations I’ve had during the month of January about how people I’m talking to are feeling at the start of 2022:⁣

✔️People want products and services that make them feel good! Times are tough and self-preservation is key this month.⁣

✔️ Women-owned small businesses want to promote themselves this year! I can tell by the number of business owners I’ve talked to this month, and it’s not just me, it’s my PR and marketing colleagues within the industry, too. The pandemic has held female founders back for the last two years, and in 2022, they’re ready to go. ⁣

✔️ If you held off connecting with someone in December because it’s a crazy month, now is a great time to get back in touch with people who you told, “let’s connect in the new year.” Even if it’s virtual, or a phone call or a DM, people love to know you’re thinking of them. And you never know, it could result in something cool down the line!⁣

Now back to watching this peaceful snowfall before my children get home. Have a great weekend. ⁣

Stepping into the new year like… thank goodness we’re almost halfway through the year’s longest month. ⁣

I got to go to NYC in December before the latest surge. I hadn’t flown for 20 months, and it felt so good to be back in my old stomping grounds. ⁣

I know many of us miss travel - where are you looking forward to going in 2022?⁣

Happy new year, friends. 🌟⁣

One of the best parts of working with women-owned small businesses is getting to be their customer, too ☺️⁣

I’m thrilled to work with which is an ethical, sustainable, 100% organic Chicago-based clothing brand founded by Alecia and Jon Zasiebida, who are so passionate about elevating the children’s clothing space that they created a brand that is not only good for people and the planet, but the products are adorable and fun for kids to wear, too. ⁣

Their city-themed PJs (NYC, LA, Chicago, TX) and Happy Birthday PJs speak for themselves - so much so that they’ve sold out multiple times this fall! ⁣

If you are seeking small business gifts for your kids this holiday season, these jammies are a cute and cozy way to have sweet dreams. Trust me, order ASAP 😉⁣

CeCe and Sylvie clearly love their NYC PJs 💜⁣

On birthdays. ⁣

In October 2019, I had a “big” birthday, and in short, I was mortified to be “so old.” Two years later, my perspective on aging has changed, and continues to evolve.⁣

Why? ⁣

▪️Between the stress, pain and loss of the pandemic, and the experience of seeing my dad’s health decline, I’m choosing gratitude. Each day. Being grateful to wake up with what I have. It’s hard but it’s worth it. It gives me greater perspective on what really matters. ⁣

▪️I stopped putting artificial deadlines on things that I hadn’t achieved by a certain age. This is pointless and only set me up for disappointment. ⁣

▪️ I’m learning to appreciate the benefits of my age, such as greater confidence in my professional experience, stronger friendships, and unwavering confidence in my beliefs and values. ⁣

I’m sharing the story in case you too have ever felt insecure about aging. I’m trying to get better and better and appreciating each day, because I truly believe that each day is a gift (which is why it is called the present, as they say!) ⁣

Tagging some women who I admire who have talked about aging positively, and I’m grateful for their inspiring words on the topic. Thank you for your encouraging perspectives!

Hi! I’m hopping on the bandwagon hard today but for some reason I have some new followers here, so welcome! 😊⁣

I took an IG hiatus recently and three things happened while I was off:⁣

👋 I got - I probably should have done this last year when no one saw me, but oh well ⁣

👋 redesigned my website - it got a major glow-up and focused on how I help (more on this soon!)⁣

👋 I realized I actually like wearing colors from time to time… this vintage dress I’m wearing has pockets. Pockets!!⁣

What’s new with you? Hope you have a nice weekend. ⁣

I was OOO last week and it felt... great and hard at the same time. ⁣

Why? Honestly, I totally suck at being on vacation for the first few days. I’m thinking about my clients, my to-do list, and lost time. ⁣

Does anyone else do this too?? I constantly think, what’s wrong with me that I can’t just enjoy this time?⁣

Being a is hard because no one covers for you while you’re out 😬⁣

So I’m sharing one switch I made on this trip: I set aside little chunks of time to respond to emails almost every morning, and I didn’t overthink it or beat myself up about it for working on vacation. For me, this helped me know that work was progressing while I was away from my computer - and I responded to urgent stuff via email and text from my phone. No fires to put out, thankfully! And no, this is not revolutionary advice - but I gave myself permission to do a little work, and mostly play, which was revolutionary for me and might be for you, too 😊⁣

Seriously, who has tips on how to mentally get into vacation mode?⁣

Thank you to for sharing this beautiful home in Galena, IL! Visit Meg’s blog for an entire post about this adorable town and stunning home. ⁣

This is a live shot of me thinking about how happy I am that March is over. 😊⁣

No joke, I’m so happy it’s April. The year anniversary of the pandemic weighed heavily on my mind last month. ⁣

I’m working on a business project that I’m excited to share in a couple of weeks. Cc: 🙌⁣

And my PR clients have exciting appearances and opportunities in the works. 💪⁣

I hope you are looking forward to April - brighter days ahead. 🌞⁣

It’s March 1st, which kicks off Women’s History Month! This month has been recognized in the US since 1980, and it’s an opportunity to celebrate all of the women who have come before us who have shaped our nation and individual communities. ⁣

This month, I’m going to do several things:⁣

📖 For my kids and myself, read the books that I purchased last year about famous women in history, particularly by BIPOC women who often go overlooked⁣

🎁 Be more intentional about purchasing from women-owned businesses who have the power to influence future female business owners for years to come⁣

✨ Share stories of women who are achieving greatness in their industries and their lives⁣

Feel free to tag any women-owned businesses here that we should know about!⁣

Hi friends, it’s been a while. 😊 I took an IG break for a bunch of reasons and it was nice to take a step back and really think about how I want to use this platform. ⁣

Last year I was burned out from doomscrolling, the comparison game, and the general hamster wheel of keeping up on here. IG is a lot, right?!⁣

Here are my three goals for using IG more intentionally moving forward:⁣

👋 Connect with you - I’ve cultivated so many real relationships on here and especially now when we can’t see each other, am genuinely cheering so many of you on, and so glad we can keep in touch here!⁣

💡Share knowledge - I’ve been in PR for 15 years and want to help more small women-owned businesses learn how to promote themselves this year. I have a few exciting offerings in the works, can’t wait to hear what you think!⁣

⭐️ Be inspired by you - I’m blown away by the creativity and innovation I see from so many content creators and experts on here, and especially now, it’s so important to seek creative ways to move our businesses forward. ⁣

One IG friend who inspires me is - her Live What You Love brand and community that she’s built are really special. (I’m wearing the women’s sweatshirt in black!)⁣

PS - I’ve missed you!⁣
