Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. decades ago said that injustice in healthcare is one of the most severe forms of inequality.

"Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health care is the most shocking and inhumane." Dr. King recognized that systemic barriers, such as poverty and inadequate healthcare access, hinder individual well-being, harm the health of communities, and damage national economic and social justice.

Dr. King’s advocacy for health equity continues to inspire efforts aimed at reducing disparities and promoting a more inclusive healthcare system today.
