This weekend was EXTRA special! ❤️
I celebrated 28 YEARS of providing services to youth! 🙌🏽
For 28 years, God has allowed me to serve young people through foster care, education, conferences, advocacy, teaching, mentoring, community partnerships, travel, and so much more. And I must say, this weekend’s trip to Portland with Men of Purpose easily ranks in my TOP FIVE experiences serving youth—especially African American young men.
These young men represented themselves WELL! 👏🏽
The exposure, opportunities, conversations, travel, and cultural experiences they received this weekend were about so much more than taking a trip. Seeds were planted that can create a FOREVER impact in their lives.
Thank you, Men of Purpose, for your commitment to seeing the lives of young men and soon young women changed, developed, exposed, and transformed.
But MY highlight of the entire trip?
One of the mentees said:
“I’m grateful for my mentor believing in me.”
WHEW!!! 🥹🙌🏽
If you know me, you already know I was ready to HOLLA! 😂
Why?
Because sometimes when God uses you and you simply OBEY, He will give you a moment that reminds you exactly WHY He called you to do the work.
For 28 years, I’ve kept saying YES.
Yes to serving.
Yes to mentoring.
Yes to advocating.
Yes to showing up.
Yes to pouring into the next generation.
And YES to God using my life to make a difference.
And after 28 years, He STILL amazes me with what He does in me, through me, and through the incredible people He allows me to serve alongside, like Men of Purpose Mentoring
I’m grateful.
I’m humbled.
I’m fulfilled.
And I’m still saying YES! ❤️
Here’s to 28 years of service, impact, obedience, and transforming generations! 🙌🏽🔥
Now…after all that serving, traveling, pouring, mentoring, and celebrating…
