Now that these dates are dropping, let's go ahead and clear up some tax concerns now that you may have once that amount hits your account.
βοΈ1. As you Tax Preparer, I DO NOT control the "Wheres My Refund" website. When you are checking it and it is not doing as you think it should, call the IRS. The website is owned and operated by the IRS.
βοΈ2. If YOU OWE a debt and your money is reduced, YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE LETTER TO COME IN THE MAIL that states why your refund was taken. It takes 3 weeks for the IRS to let you know where the money was offset, MEANING, when you call the IRS, you are calling the call center and they DO NOT KNOW most times why or who took the money. The IRS employs another internal agency affiliated with the IRS to take funds. Wait the recommended three (3) weeks for the letter to come then call complaining.
βοΈ3. The TAX ADVANCE your received was NOT FREE MONEY. Once your money is released, the tax advance, bank fees, and my (your tax preparer) fees will come out, so please do not act like you don't know.
βοΈ4. If you owe any debts to the government, they want their money just like you want yours. The money you owe will come out of your refund regardless of the amount. If your refund was not enough to also pay me (tax preparer), YOU ARE STILL REQUIRED TO PAY ME THE FEES YOU OWE ME FOR PREPARING YOUR TAXES.
βοΈ5. It does not matter if you and your friend filed on the same day, one person's money can come before the other.
βοΈ6. Lastly, some will get letters wanting them to prove identity and or letters stating the return is being reviewed. This is normal and has been going on for years. The IRS sometimes randomly picks individuals. THAT DOES NOT MEAN I (YOUR PREPARER) DID ANYTHING WRONG
HAVE A BLESS DAYπ
