Happy New Year! Yes, we know it’s the 8th. No, we haven’t been nursing a weeklong hangover. A new decade brings a whole new meaning to a “fresh start.” And we had some things to wrap up before beginning ours. After all, a “beginning” is just a mental state, right?

We believe that’s true, so we began ours in style at our new office —- the ART INSTITUTE!!! Let’s just say this year is roaring in like a lion...

Business owners start their businesses for a number of reasons (lets say because they like merchandising) - that leap alone is 🙌🏽🔥
But some, later find themselves realizing that there is SO much more (lets say hiring/training/talent management, operational processes, selling & guest interactions...and everything in between) that goes into running a solid well-rounded operation 🤯
Without support - they’re tired, overwhelmed and have completely lost sight of why they were BRAVE enough to do this in the first place ✊🏼
THEY AREN’T ALONE. YOU AREN’T ALONE.

Competitive analysis, comp shop, S.W.O.T., spying - whatever you want to call it - GET OUT THERE AND SEE WHAT YOUR COMPETITORS ARE DOING!!!

* Are you drawn in by their windows? Why or why not?
* How are you treated when you enter?
* What is the staff doing/saying while you’re there?
* What products are they carrying?
* Are there any overlaps? If so, how do their prices compare to yours?
* How is their space laid out/merchandised? Does it resonate with you?
* What are they doing BETTER than you?
Learn something new from every business!
