To legal tech conference organizers: do better.
The lack of diversity on your stages – and across your topics – isn’t just disappointing. It’s harmful.
We’re living through an administration actively dismantling the rule of law.
And…the people hit hardest?
Still not in the room.
Still not on the stage.
Still not in the conversation.
Your programming choices have consequences.
The topics you elevate.
The voices you platform.
The discussions you allow – or don’t.
All of it shapes who shows up, who stays, and whether this industry builds something that can actually withstand an anti-democracy government.
This isn’t a minor oversight.
It’s a structural failure.
And “unintentional” doesn’t make it neutral.
Legal tech has positioned itself as the future of law. That future needs to be built by – and for – everyone the law is supposed to protect.
Anything less isn’t progressive.
It’s just a shinier version of the same old room.
Do better. Enough is enough.
