Tuesday June 25th, Episode #86, Stories From Graceland Pond.
Theme: Embarrassing Summer Stories.

It's summer and yes, things happen, sometimes embarassing, weird, and funny things. That's our story theme on this LIVE version of our show.

Special guest is Sheri Reda, who will be performing and telling a humorous story titled Layers, related to a fashion... error, and a memoir-ish story from her Italian American childhood.

Sheri is up first, followed by Nina Alexandra and I doing our FIVE THINGS, and are then joined by Doug Stevenson, Mark Maguire, and Marijo O'Connell.

Music selections TBD, but we'll update this post when we get that figured out.

Tuesday June 11th, Episode #85, Stories From Graceland Pond.

Theme: Give Peace a Chance

Yes, just like the John Lennon song, and, not just peace from war, but peace between people; neighbors, relatives, co-workers. We'll have inspirational stories about that on this program.

Special guest is Valerie Mrak, who is a peace advocate, dynamic speaker, and has had conversations about it with the Dalia Lama. Her story has to do with a very rough period in her life that changed when somebody... said something. She's up first, followed by Nina Alexandra and I doing our FIVE THINGS, and are then joined by Mark Maguire, Marijo O'Connell, and Doug Stevenson.

Music selections from: John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Louis Armstrong, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Burt Bacharach, Sly & the Family Stone, Dionne Warwick, Johnny Cash, and John Prine.

Start of the eclipse here in the labyrinth at Graceland Pond. It might be the warmth but saw a record number of sunning turtles, and a pair of Wood ducks walking in the labyrinth — like Chuck Berry. Beautiful day but getting weird. The animals are making noises like questions. Like “whaaa?? Waz goin down? What’s da word? (Thunderbird). What’s shakin? (Nuttin but da leaves on da trees braagham). Who you gone call? (Ghostbusters). What’s happenin captain? What’s the dang deal? (Lucille).

Lots of questions. From the animals.

Congressman John Moolenaar representing Michigan district 2. He voted yesterday against expelling George Santos from Congress. 102 other members of the GOP did vote to expel him. Santos is being expelled.

In a previous notable action he signed the amicus brief of Texas versus Pennsylvania, which attempted to overturn the 2020 presidential election. That suit alleged wrong doing by the state of Michigan in its voting process, the same one Moolenaar was elected by. The lawsuit was dismissed by the Supreme Court.

Moolenaar also voted against the Respect for Marriage Act. That law passed, which allows in*******al marriage.

I ask the simple question to my fellow citizens in north east michigan, is this what you support? He faces re-election in 2024.
