Strategies show you where to go. Systems are how you get there.

I've been there. It seems like it's more efficient to just do it yourself. After all, who knows what you want to see better than you, right? Well, kind of.

Here's the thing, any vision worth its salt is ALWAYS bigger than the visionary! That means if you're looking to build a sustainable nonprofit, a successful business, and effective educational environment, it will take more than you and you need to build in such a way that it can continue to thrive even in your absence.

Let's talk about strategy- because a lot of times, you know exactly where you want to go. You just don't know how to get there.

Strategies are different than vision. The vision is where you want to go, the strategy is how you plan to get there. The vision may not change, but sometime the strategies have to.

Ever feel "successful" on paper but a little disconnected from why you started?

That disconnect usually doesn't show up all at once. It creeps in over time- through decisions that don't quite feel like yours anymore, or a kind of tired that rest doesn't fix.

Remember, purpose isn't something you find once and never lose sight of again. It has to be checked on. Revisited. Sometimes rediscovered.

So here are 3 signs your business (or your work) might have quietly drifted from its purpose — swipe through and see if any of these hit close to home.

It's July- and this is always a time of reflection for me.

This is what I'm sitting with right now the most consequential decision that you can ever make as a leader is to be diligent in leading yourself well.

Set the boundaries. Start the business. Do the workout. Make time for the conversation. Surrender to God. Wanting more doesn't mean you're ungrateful for what's He done. It could be Him working in you to push you toward purpose.

If you took two weeks off tomorrow and completely disconnected — what would happen to your organization? Would it keep moving? Would your team know exactly what to do?
