This weekend, Chicago is doing what it does best. 🌆

Forever Mine Festival and Sueños Festival are both happening this weekend, May 23-24, and KEP Propane & Equipment will be there keeping things running safely behind the scenes.

Two incredible events, one incredible city. If you're heading out this weekend, come say hi. If you're not, what are you waiting for?

Chicago festival season is here. Let's go.

Chicago has one of the greatest festival cultures in the world. And we'll stand on that.

Every summer, this city comes alive in a way that is hard to put into words. The lakefront fills up, the neighborhoods open their streets, and hundreds of thousands of people come together over food, music, and the kind of community that only Chicago knows how to build.

That does not happen by accident. It happens because of the organizers who dedicate years of their lives to producing these events, the visitors who show up summer after summer and keep the culture breathing, and the vendors who are behind the grills and fryers before the gates even open.

KEP Propane & Equipment is a family-owned Chicago business, and supplying propane and equipment to Chicago's festivals is something we have built our reputation on. Season after season, we show up as the propane supplier Chicago festival vendors and organizers count on to keep things running safely and on time. From the first event of the summer to the last, that trust means everything to us.

We are proud of this city. Proud of the people who pour everything into making it what it is. And proud to play our part in a summer culture that Chicago does better than anywhere else.

Here's to another season of full crowds, great food, and everything that makes this city worth celebrating. If you need ideas or updates on events as they come up, follow us to see where we will be this summer!

Our next Crew Spotlight will highlight Rich's nephew & Dominic's Right hand man; Alex Hall.

Alex is KEP's Lead Technician and Manager of our technical team, keeping things running smoothly on the ground at almost all of our events. If you've worked with us at a festival, you've likely had the pleasure of meeting him.

If not, get to know Alex a little better:

Do you have a nickname/preferred name?
Al.

Are you from Chicago? If so, what area? If not, where are you from?
Oak Lawn, Illinois.

What’s your favorite hobby/activity?
Seeing live music and backpacking.

What TV show/Movie/Book/Podcast are you currently into?
Carl Jung — The Undiscovered Self.

What event do you look forward to each year & why?
Riot Fest and St. Pius Church event. Riot Fest is the first event I worked at, and the vibe of the event is very friendly considering the name. St. Pius because the church community was very welcoming, and it was a beautiful thing to see so many people congregated with food, music, religion, and no alcohol.

How do you keep busy in the off season?
I work setting up trade shows, and when I’m not doing that, I travel and like to go backpacking and see beautiful places on this home of Earth.

What’s your favorite hidden gem in the Chicagoland area?
All the small food places like Bird’s Nest up north. Also, King Spa in Niles is a great place for relaxation and peace.

What “Chicago thing” do you find overrated?
Chicago has a lot to do, but the most overrated thing has to be the St. Patrick’s parade downtown. You’ve got to go to Western to get the real sense of Chicago Irish culture and heritage.

Deep dish or thin crust? & what’s your favorite pizza spot to get it?
Thin crust. Palermo's Pizza on 63rd for Chicago-style. For non-Chicago style, Zaza’s Pizza on the north side.

Ketchup on your hot dog, or NO WAY!
No way.

We are excited to introduce a new series where we highlight the vendors who help bring Chicago’s festivals and events to life. From longtime staples to new favorites, these are the people behind the food, energy, and culture that make every event special.

To kick off the series, we are spotlighting The Pure Juice Joint

Located in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood, Pure Juice was founded by RobG, also known as the “Juice Goat,” with a mission to bring clean, plant-based food and drinks to the community. What started as a personal shift toward healthier living has grown into a business focused on fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and making wellness more accessible.

We have had the privilege to work alongside The Pure Juice and Vegan Food Joint at events across the city, and they consistently show up prepared, organized, and ready to serve. Vendors like this are a big part of what keeps Chicago’s events running strong from open to close.

Catch them in action this year at events like Taste of Chicago, Lollapalooza, & RiotFest. And make sure to check out their website at https://thepurejuicejoint.com/ and follow them on Facebook & Instagram.

Support local. Support family. Support Bacci Pizzeria . 🍕

This weekend our friends over at Bacci Pizzeria on Taylor Street are hosting a Sunday Funday for the kids!

They’re putting on another Kids Pizza Making Class where little chefs can get hands-on, learn how to make their own pizza, and have some fun in the kitchen.

🗓 Sunday, April 26th
⏰ 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
📍 Bacci on Taylor Street
đŸ’Č $20 per child
⚠ Limited to the first 30 kids

Each child will make their own pizza, learn the basics, and enjoy the full experience. It’s a great way to spend a Sunday with the family while supporting a local business that’s a big part of the Chicago food scene.

Bacci has been a staple at so many of the events we’re proud to be part of, and we’re always happy to support the people who show up and put in the work year-round.

Bring the family out, show them some love, and let the kids get their hands a little messy.
