Our next Crew Spotlight will highlight Rich's nephew & Dominic's Right hand man; Alex Hall.
Alex is KEP's Lead Technician and Manager of our technical team, keeping things running smoothly on the ground at almost all of our events. If you've worked with us at a festival, you've likely had the pleasure of meeting him.
If not, get to know Alex a little better:
Do you have a nickname/preferred name?
Al.
Are you from Chicago? If so, what area? If not, where are you from?
Oak Lawn, Illinois.
Whatâs your favorite hobby/activity?
Seeing live music and backpacking.
What TV show/Movie/Book/Podcast are you currently into?
Carl Jung â The Undiscovered Self.
What event do you look forward to each year & why?
Riot Fest and St. Pius Church event. Riot Fest is the first event I worked at, and the vibe of the event is very friendly considering the name. St. Pius because the church community was very welcoming, and it was a beautiful thing to see so many people congregated with food, music, religion, and no alcohol.
How do you keep busy in the off season?
I work setting up trade shows, and when Iâm not doing that, I travel and like to go backpacking and see beautiful places on this home of Earth.
Whatâs your favorite hidden gem in the Chicagoland area?
All the small food places like Birdâs Nest up north. Also, King Spa in Niles is a great place for relaxation and peace.
What âChicago thingâ do you find overrated?
Chicago has a lot to do, but the most overrated thing has to be the St. Patrickâs parade downtown. Youâve got to go to Western to get the real sense of Chicago Irish culture and heritage.
Deep dish or thin crust? & whatâs your favorite pizza spot to get it?
Thin crust. Palermo's Pizza on 63rd for Chicago-style. For non-Chicago style, Zazaâs Pizza on the north side.
Ketchup on your hot dog, or NO WAY!
No way.
