What a month. August came in hot and did not let up.

We wrapped up Lollapalooza, brought the heat to Margarita Fest, kept the grills running at Panda Fest, and showed up for a handful of single kitchen events in between. Every connection checked, every kitchen fueled, zero issues.

This is what peak season looks like for our crew, and we would not have it any other way.

September is not slowing down either. We have a full slate ahead before the season finally starts to wind down, and our team is ready for every bit of it.Thank you to every vendor, organizer, and fire crew we worked alongside this month. You make it easy to love what we do.

This week, members of the KEP team attended the Illinois Propane Gas Association (IPGA) District Safety Meeting in Bradley, Illinois, led by IPGA Director of Education, Todd Jones.

The IPGA is the statewide association dedicated to advancing the safe and responsible use of propane across Illinois. Their district safety meetings bring propane professionals together from across the state to sharpen their knowledge and make sure everyone in this industry is operating at the highest standard possible.

Make no mistake, we are in a dangerous industry. The work we do at festivals and events across Chicago carries real responsibility, and we never lose sight of that. Thanks to people like Todd, who dedicate their careers to raising that standard for everyone, we are all a little better prepared and a little safer for it.

Thank you Todd and the IPGA for everything you do!

There's a TACOTLAN EXPRESS, baby! tacotlan.express. Shout out to our team, my sister, new city moving, 1800 junk, and ME for getting this move done and our new location inspected in less than 1 week and RIGHT AFTER LOLLA. 😅

We will be open soon and can't wait to share our food with you again. New location is at 4349 W. Fullerton. It's currently carryout only but maybe we'll add 3 tables. Are you guys excited or what??

Our next Crew Spotlight is someone who has been part of this family long before he was ever on the payroll.

Joel Tapper stood as best man at Dominic's wedding, he is Godfather to Dominic's son Johnny, and since joining the team officially in 2016 he has been one of the most dependable Crew Leads we have. Joel is not just an employee, he is the living proof of what KEP is actually built on. Not just hard work and propane tanks, but real relationships, real loyalty, and the kind of bond that does not come from a job posting.
