And you thought I just made jewelry!
Once a piece is finished, there’s still photography, editing, writing, website updates and social media before you ever see it.
Some days it can all feel a little overwhelming.
Then I’m at an event and hear someone say:
“There’s Tangled Vine Jewelry. I love her jewelry!”
And suddenly, every bit of it is worthwhile.
That’s the story behind this week’s Vineyard Journal — Issue 09.

The not-so-glamorous side of handmade!
Before the gemstones become jewelry, somebody has to order them, receive them, organize them, price them and make sure everything is exactly where it belongs.
That somebody would be me.
Running Tangled Vine Jewelry means wearing a lot of hats—and this week I’m sharing a little of what happens behind the scenes.

What does it really take to run a small handcrafted jewelry business?
Some days I’m designing jewelry. Other days I’m ordering gemstones, checking costs, organizing inventory, updating the website, writing descriptions…and wondering where I put that one strand of beads I know I bought!
This week’s Vineyard Journal takes you behind the scenes at Tangled Vine Jewelry for a look at the work that happens before a finished piece ever reaches you.

W**e, Lasagna & a Rainy Weekend
Some weekends call for a vineyard. Others call for lasagna.
With the Nor’easter still doing its thing outside, I decided it was time for some serious comfort food—a bubbling pan of lasagna and a bottle of Pé Tinto from Portugal.
A deep, smooth red with a lovely raspberry character alongside all that tomato, meat and cheese?
I'd say the storm wasn't so bad after all.
There's more from my weekend—including another painting taking shape on the easel, check out the latest journal.

Behind the Easel
What happens when one artist paints another?
This particular artist creates with found metal objects—so when it came time to paint his portrait, I decided he shouldn't just work in metal...
He should become metal.
Rivets, steel, hardware and plenty of artistic license went into this one. It was quite a challenge—and a lot of fun.
See what else kept me busy during our stormy weekend in the newest Vineyard Journal.
W**e, art & the stories in between.

Sometimes Mother Nature changes the plan…
A Nor’easter meant there would be no vineyard wandering for us this weekend. So instead, this week's Vineyard Journal took a little detour—into the studio, the kitchen, and eventually, a bottle of red.
It turns out a stormy weekend can inspire its own kind of adventure.
Come spend a cozy weekend with me.

Sometimes you just have to take the scenic route…

Sunshine. Blue skies. Rows of grapevines.

And one bright yellow Corvette that apparently understood the assignment.

It's the kind of scene that makes you want to forget the schedule, put the top down and see where the vineyard trail takes you next.

Our latest stop was W**e Haus & Vineyard at Jameson Farm, and I'm sharing the afternoon in Issue 07 of The Vineyard Journal.

Sometimes you swirl and sip. Sometimes you add a straw!

One thing I'm learning on my vineyard travels is that w**e doesn't always need to take itself too seriously.

At W**e Haus, traditional w**es share the menu with colorful seasonal w**e slushies—just right for a warm afternoon overlooking the vineyard.

It's fun, casual and perfectly suited to the easygoing personality of this little w**ery.

There's more from our visit in this week's Vineyard Journal.

We’re Back on the Vineyard Trail!

After a couple of busy festival weekends, it was time to slow things down with a glass of w**e and a sunny afternoon at W**e Haus & Vineyard at Jameson Farm.

This family-owned Pioneer Valley w**ery has a wonderfully relaxed personality—bring something to eat, find a comfortable spot, choose your w**e and enjoy the view of the vines.

Sometimes w**e country really can be that simple.

Pour yourself a glass and join me for Issue 07 of The Vineyard Journal.

Art isn't always something hanging on a wall.

Sometimes it's a handcrafted necklace. Sometimes it's a beautifully restored Victorian home. And sometimes it's music drifting down a historic street on a gorgeous September afternoon.

That's what I love about Mattoon Street—so many different kinds of creativity coming together in one place.

After four years of participating, I'm still inspired by the artists, musicians, visitors and wonderful sense of community that fill the street each festival weekend.

Come take one last stroll with me through Issue 06 of The Vineyard Journal.
