Pitt County Vector Control got a confirmed test result for West Nile Virus (WNV) from the North Carolina State Laboratory of Public Health on Friday, July 25. Pitt County Vector Control collects mosquito samples regularly and sends them to the North Carolina State Laboratory of Public Health for testing. The West Nile Virus was detected in the samples from the Old Pactolus area, west of Sunnyside Road, according to a representative of Pitt County.
