Happy freaking New Year!!!

Am I the only one who let out a sigh of relief when the clock struck midnight last night? We survived 2020, y'all!

Last year was... yeah. We all know. And although flipping the calendar to 2021 doesn't magically mean everything that made 2020 the worst is fixed, there is something about a new year that feels great.

I figured I'd pop in today to remind you that you're beautiful and amazing and a fu***ng SURVIVOR. Whatever you've faced this last year, you're still here. You've got this.

We've got this.

Why is it so difficult to take that first step?

News flash guys... it has to do with fear.

When you take on a challenge it means you have to leave your safe routine behind. The amygdala in your brain, which likes tranquility, clarity, and predictability (as these are good for survival) sets off an alarm, which feels like a block to you. So, you let fear keep you where you are.

But remember we have to push past that fear because that is when we grow and evolve.

You can get around this by taking small steps:

It’s better to do a little bit at a time, rather than everything at once. Setting yourself targets that are easy to reach, like meditating for five minutes each day or clearing away only one of the stacks on your desk. Or tackling that big project for your business or simply starting the business!

This allows you to sneak by your amygdala on tippy toes so that it doesn’t set off an alarm.

I tell clients, who come to me because they are simply overwhelmed and don't really know where to start.

One step at a time. Each step they complete feels like a triumph and will give them the energy and the motivation to keep going.

What is that step that you want to take to get you out of where you are now? Do you know someone that needs to hear this.. mention them @!

I’m pretty sure that most of us will feel relief once the most “eventful” year in recent history is behind us.

But 2020 isn’t fully in the rearview mirror yet. There’s still time to end the year on a high note!

I’m not proposing a big, audacious goal into the last three weeks of the year!

But, maybe start with that vision that you been keeping close to your heart, but are too afraid to shout to the world just yet.

But little steps, create big impacts!

Start writing it down, keep it close, where you can look at it every day. You are "planting that seed, and let your mind "grow" that idea.

Then if anything comes up, write "that idea" next to it. Before you know it, you will have it all mapped out, ready to break it down in 2021!

And the Action! Action!

What’s the one thing you’d like to accomplish in your business before you take a hiatus from Zoom meetings and lean hard into becoming a holiday couch sloth?

Today I had a persona win, I presented to a group of amazing EA my story on how I left my Corporate EA job to start my VA practice and that in less than 2 years I scaled up to my OBM business.

It was my first webinar and boy, was I nervous. 😬

And like anything new that I try, I let myself sit in this new uncomfortable state and at the end of the hour, I took away a win with the engagement and feedback from the audience and realized once again that...

I can do hard things

Time for a nice reward...don't you think?

Share below - what have you done that was really hard, but you rode it out and at the end, you realized that it was not that hard after all 👇🏻

Sounds weird right? But it is simple.

We move through the world with a purpose and little by little we get closer to that purpose. We learn to read and write at school, then college, we gather experiences from work and we build that path towards our purpose - which never really ends.

With each learning experience, we gather, we fill our toolbox.

As a former Executive Assistant, I had a very BIG Toolbox - ready for any type of solution to any given problem. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, Corporate EA's are really the fuel that keeps any team and their executive moving along.

We know EVERYTHING and that toolbox was overflowing

But, times are changing and when I moved from the corporate world into my own business and supporting my clients, I had to do a major toolkit clean up.

I had to look and dig deep and focus on having only those tools that would help my client scale and organized their business.

Here are two that I cannot live without and always recommend to my clients:

✨ Plutio - is a client management platform and I use to manage my projects, keep track of proposals, invoices, contracts, forms, and client management and my daily task list

✨ Loom - a video recording tool that helps you get your message across instantly shareable videos. With Loom, you can record your camera, microphone, and desktop simultaneously. Your video is then instantly available to share through Loom's technology.

And you?

What is in that toolbox that you could not live without? Share below 👇🏻

Did you know the hardest thing to do in your business is finding patience?

Hear me out...

Of all the things I had to learn to run my business, patience has been the hardest one to stick to. I like to get things done ASAP.

But, when you are building your new business, patience is a valuable tool that can help you reach your goals and accomplish more than you ever dreamed.

This commitment to sticking it out for the long haul, even if it means taking a longer road than you’d planned, can help you meet your goals and experience better success for the business as a whole.

It’s easy to run forward with both hands open, desperately grasping after any opportunity that comes your way.

Harder is the long, slow road of patience–but in the end, patience will help build your business further and give you a better foundation.

🙌🏻 Share in the with me... what has been the hardest part of your business that you had to wait for and play the long game?

Has anyone ever heard of the 33% rule?

The idea was created by , TED speaker, Investor/Philanthropist (you can look up his TEDTalk to get more insight into it). But, the core of the talk was answering "Everyone wants the good life, but no everyone is willing to..."

As his talks continue, the nudged that strike me was when he mentioned that as we move in life we need a handful of people that will show us the way in order for us to "design" the life we envision for ourselves.

And he then mentioned his 33% rule, which states that...

33% of your time should be spent with mentors - people that challenge you and make you a bit uncomfortable

I'm going to let in a little secret...Being a business owner is exhausting...

But, when you have your own business, we push through it. we have to because we always feel like we don't have anyone to keep eye on our business the way we do.

As a business owner, it's hard for us to let go - One of the most difficult transitions to make is the shift from doing to leading.

Take one of my clients - when she reached out to me she was doing all. the. things.

As her business demand continued to increase she could no longer remain credibly engaged in everything. Her clients stood idly by waiting for some of her precious time to consult on, review, or move forward various items, both her and her client frustration grew. She found herself on the edge of burnout while confronting a potential loss of credibility (and business) with her clients.

She reached out and after having an audit intensive call I helped her reset, realign, and restart her mindset.

With this refreshed vision, the next step was to reassess her daily workload. I asked her to count the hours devoted to each task, then ranked each item on a 10-point scale to assess how important that initiative was to her business overall success. This made her realized she was devoting to much time and energy to priorities that were not on her top five. These were candidates for delegation, so our next step was finding the right service provider match to take that off her plate and transfer it to them.

Finding the right strategies is what I do with my clients. I help them review their workload, and find those gaps that are hurting them and how to best realign so they can focus on the right purpose for their business.

You can find more information about what I do on my bio. Let me help you find that reset.

Challenge accepted. Thank you for nominating me !

While I'm honored to be tagged as a strong woman.

I think all of us in one way or another don't feel strong most days. Even though we slay each day like the that we are.

So why are women more likely to compare themselves to other people, downplay their success, and insist on perfection?

It all comes down to their core beliefs.

Strong women do things differently because they live by a different set of daily habits.

I'm sharing some of those habits that I have learned from all the strong women that I have in my life and continue to lift me up daily.

💪 Self-Worth Should Never Be Determined By Anyone Else’s Opinion - you and you alone determine how you feel about yourself.

💪 Your Strength Will Sometimes Be Viewed As Weakness - Your kindness, your emotions, and vulnerability are the strongest thing about you, don't let others tell you they are a weakness. Recognize that your strength will remind others of their own weaknesses.

💪 Don't let society dictate how you need to engage in the world - Recognized that you don't need to give in to the constant pressure to "be" the way the world wants you to be.

💪 There’s No Need To Shrink Yourself For Other People’s Comfort - Be comfortable in your skin and know that is NOT your job to avoid intimidating other people by playing it small

💪 Mental Strength Can Be Contagious - Your energy in creating the strongest version of yourself often inspired others to follow.
