Two Questions:
Where do you want to be on January 1, 2023?
To what are you committed?

I spent this past Saturday with an amazing community of fellow coaches in professional development for the health program we coach. Speakers who inspired and motivated us were authentic and vulnerable in sharing their truth. They asked these tough questions and more, but these really made me think - maybe they're making you think, too.

January 1, 2023 is 97 days from today. Are you committed to remaining where you are and setting that same, tired New Year’s resolution that you’ve set for the past however many years? Or, are you committed to starting a new year with a new mindset and possibilities because you did the work now?

The past 13 months have helped me grow in confidence and self-belief about what I am capable of when I commit to my goal. You can see it in the pictures. The words that have guided me this year are "steadfast intentionality". I am committed to continuing that practice in all that I do for the next 97 days (and after).

No matter your goal, if you’re ready to do the work now, reach out to me today. I would be honored to coach you to success. You deserve this and I want it for you.

In my Monday Morning Connection call today, my friend Brenda said, "The devil you don't know could be a great party animal!" I love that because I know I 've made choices to stick with the devil I know in the past, and that hasn't served me well at all. That's definitely how I felt about my health. I thought I knew all the things I was supposed to be doing - I mean, I'd tried all the diets.

Well I'm here to tell you that this new "devil" truly is no devil, is no diet, and has been a great party animal! I have the freedom that comes from cultivating a healthy lifestyle, and that feels amazing!

Are you tired of being stuck with the devil you know? Is that devil no longer serving you? Has it ever? Whether it's your health, your career or something else keeping you from freedom, Let's talk about how to get unstuck!

I had a conversation recently with someone about fear, and it reminded me of these two acronyms for fear. Our experiences teach us to fear or trust. When we have enough similar experiences, we learn to fear those known unknowns: we know that any new situation or opportunity brings unknowns, but how do we guard against them for the better and keep making progress in becoming the best version of ourselves?

In my health journey, I had really come to lean into that first acronym. I had convinced myself of many aspects of getting healthy that were false - either the processes to get healthy or my own ability to get healthy because of everything I had tried in the past.

Now I've learned to embrace the second acronym, and I coach others to do the same. If I kept believing the first, I'd never have been successful in becoming a person who is healthy.

Which definition is guiding your choices? What do you need to let go of the first? Message me if you'd like to get clear on how to Face Everything And Rise!

Making a positive IMPACT is one of the many reasons why I coach. Whether it is health, leadership, or career, I want to help others see that they too make an impact in the world, and it can be a positive one.

In a recent devotional I read about integrity, I was reminded of times in my life where my intent was misjudged and my integrity questioned. While those experiences have been rare, they negatively impacted me and cause hurtful feelings to manifest even though I'm years past them. I never want someone's memory of me to be that I negatively impacted them.

If you're ready to make a positive impact and just aren't sure how, reach out. I'd love to support you on the journey of making your unique splash in the world.

Holy moly! After about a bajillion people recommended the book, "Atomic Habits" by James Clear, I have finally gotten around to listening to it. I will definitely be buying a copy I can highlight so that I can revisit all the wisdom he provides.

Changing our trajectory by just a degree or two (aka making small changes toward improvement), can land us in a completely different place over the long term. This can be good or bad, but is completely why I've finally been able to be successful in reaching my health goals. I opted for long-term success rather than instant gratification, and made small, concentrated changes that were easy to implement every day. I love that I can also apply these ideas and habits to my professional life as well.

Are you ready to play the long game in your personal and your professional life? Are you not quite sure that you know how to get started? I would be honored to partner with you by coaching you on your journey to success - whatever that looks like for you. What is your summer rhythm? Our slower, more relaxed pace means I get time to focus on goals and ideas that have been simmering on the back burner for a while - mostly things that I want to do like crafts, diy projects, and even some gardening.

How are you focusing on yourself this summer?

I was talking with a friend recently and we were discussing how important it is to know that someone believes in you - especially when you don’t believe in yourself. Why? It’s inspiring. Here are a couple of examples I’ve experienced recently:

I say that I started my health journey in August 2021. In actuality, it’s been going on for a while - like the Israelites wandering in the wilderness. August 2021 was when I finally got real, mostly because a friend had been on the same journey and told me that she knew I could do it. She believed in me. I jumped in & found myself surrounded by others who encouraged me, and I did it! I finally achieved what up to that point had only been a dream since I really didn’t believe I could be successful. Now I am coaching others as they turn their dream of optimal health into an achievable reality. I believe in them!

I recently had a friend from church come and take a look at my yard. It is definitely not going to win any yard of the month awards. I would love for it to be pretty, as everyone around us has lovely yards. My friend Ann has an absolutely beautiful yard and she is passionate about gardening. As we walked through my “organic” yard (and by organic, I mean anything that is there naturally is what grows), the first question she asked me was, “What would you love to do?” I gave her a laundry list of ideas I’ve had over the years. She looked at my backyard and actually said, “I see so much potential here - I love your yard and the creek that runs through it, and you can do so much.” I responded that I really appreciated that because I just saw overwhelm. However, instead of continuing to be overwhelmed, she inspired me with her kindness and belief in the possibilities and I’ve gone out and gotten a few tasks started.

I share this because I was so inspired by both of these experiences. As I’ve come to do a little more in each area, I build my own self-confidence.

So today I’ll ask you: What would you love to do?

I see so much potential in you and you can do so much!
I believe in you!

How can I help support you in making your dreams an achievable reality? Reach out to me so we can talk more.

From what source do you obtain your confidence? My inner light was dim and my confidence lacking because I didn't feel good about how I looked on the outside or how I felt - low energy, going through the motions of the days - just blah. While losing weight with my program was the immediate need for me, I've learned through the journey that it really wasn't about the weight after all but about alignment of what is inside and outside so that I can be the person God created me to be to do the work God created me to do.

That work is partnering with others through coaching to help them find confidence in aligning themselves to the work they are called to do. Is this a place you could use some assistance? I would be honored to coach you as you work to achieve your goals! Reach out to me when you're ready to amplify that inner light.
