I've learned this from BOLD. You can't control your first thought... however, you can control your second one.

The key is to be prepared with an affirmation or trigger that catapults you to it.

Example. If your first thought is negative... I can't do this.
Your affirmation may be: I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Or, I am capable of doing everything I want. Or... I am a Champion... and Champions always find a way to win.

I'M A FAILURE! By all accounts, I've failed way more than I've ever succeeded. I made poor judgements, choices, decisions... that have cost me relationships, money and lots of frustration.
Granted, I had a few successes. I've hit some singles, doubles and an occasional home run. However, they don't come close to the numerous times I struck out, hit into double plays and made errors.

As John Maxwell says, "we fail our way to success".

I've learned the key to success is simple... just don't quite. Keep moving forward. Even a mistake can lead you to success.

In Habakuk 2:2 the Lords says... "keep on doing what you know is right... for in due season, YOU WILL REAP a bountiful harvest IF YOU DO NOT GROW WEARY AND QUIT'.

To me, that's the secret of success...

Focus. They each focused on the most important thing that they could do to help them achieve their goals.
Gary Keller,in his book... The One Thing... says that "what you focus on ... expands". He goes on to ask the question: what is the one thing, that if I did it, would make everything either easier or not necessary?
I've learned over the years from people like Gary, my coaches, and other successful business people, that focus doesn't come natural to most of us. It is a skill that has to be developed. Focus allows you to stay onto something, even if it gets difficult... while other people walk away and quit.
Focus... sounds so simple and easy... yet it will separate the successful people from the average people. Focus... it's a skill that must be developed and practiced.
