Layers of leather do two things to a wallet. They are added to create pockets but also create thickness. In the end, they are a double whammy regarding wallet bulk as space fills up on top of layers of leather.

An architect with a mystic bend, Ludwing Mies Van Der Rohe played on the forefront of Mid Century Modern style when functionality ruled, making ornaments secondary. Modern minimalism exposed the “flesh and bones” of works where attention to detail topped the design hierarchy.

Van Der Rohe’s Barcelona chair exemplified this minimalist approach by removing unnecessary armrests, thereby complementing function by opening the design to take a natural, comfortable curved shape.
