We’re having a cookout next Thursday and y’all are invited!! Folks interested in doing cooperative work, folks doing the collaborative thing, kids, grandparents, neighbors—we’re gathering on August 27th! We’ll be breaking bread (with GF options of course), playing field games and we’ll share intentional time together as we workshop talking to strangers, pushing past our social anxieties, and having intentional questions for folks to meet each other 1:1.

This is a potluck cookout—we’ll provide the proteins and toppings, you bring your favorite side. 🍉🍇🧃🍰🫜🍝🍪🥨🍟🫒

Municipal ownership is economic democracy in action! That’s why we’re part of Our CPP, a grassroots campaign to turn Cleveland Public Power into the best public utility it can be. After the July 2026 blackouts, it’s clear that will be a long journey and we need to start now.

Join us Tuesday, July 28 at 6 pm at the Lorain Branch of the Cleveland Public library to share your experience navigating the blackouts. We’ll also discuss what upstream solutions we can pursue together to get Cleveland Public Power where it needs to be. Register and learn more at www.ourcpp.org.

At that website you can also sign the new petition from Our CPP, urging a one-time investment in CPP infrastructure so this doesn’t happen again, and calling for a permanent committee of consumers so there is more transparency and accountability.

The REI Union workers and co-op members have voted to boycott REI’s Anniversary Sale on Friday 5/15 to Monday 5/25. REI Union workers are asking their friends in the labor and co-op movements to help them leaflet during the sale and are holding a rally on Saturday May 16th 12pm-2pm.

Let’s show up for our friends at the REI Union and make it clear union busting has no place in the co-op movement!

REI continues to betray cooperative values and the labor movement! After REI union workers successfully got REI co-op members to reject REI’s corporate board elections last spring, REI’s new CEO seemed committed to reform. The REI conceded to a framework to reach an agreement over the fall and winter of 2025. Despite some progress made at the bargaining table, REI fell back on their anti-union tactics. REI ultimately refused to pay union workers at the same level as non-union workers. This was a slap in the face to REI union workers after four years at the bargaining table. In addition, REI continues to waste money on anti-union law firms, roll back co-op democracy, and flagrantly violate labor law.
