The Success Guilt: Why Women Entrepreneurs Sabotage Their Own Growth

Your business grew... and so did the weight you carry. So why would you want more of that?

That's success guilt. And it quietly sabotages your growth in ways you might not recognize.

Every level of success so far added more pressure.
🔸More demand.
🔸More hours.
🔸More of your life disappears into the business.

So your brain learned a pattern... growth costs you something personal. And now it protects you by keeping things where they are.

Look at how it shows up...

🔸You perfect instead of launch... because launching means more demand on days that already overflow.
🔸You delay the thing you know would grow your business... because it always meant more on your plate.
🔸You resist changing how you work... because what if the next level takes even more from you.
🔸You doubt yourself... because if you can barely manage what you carry now, how could you possibly handle more.

You don't fear failure. You fear that success will keep costing you the same way it always did.

Here's the truth... growth doesn't need to add more weight. When you shift how your business runs, the next level can actually feel lighter than where you stand right now.

Which one do you recognize in yourself... the perfecting, the delaying, the resistance, or the doubt? Drop it in the comments.👇

The flu decided to rewrite my January plans.

You know me. I plan. I do. I execute.

A slow start? That didn't make the list.

Yet here we are. My Monday mastermind shared the same experience. Turns out I'm not alone.

Maybe you feel this too?

Here's what I'm learning:
🔸Waiting at the starting gate beats racing to catch up.
🔸Racing creates chaos.
🔸Chaos leaves tasks unfinished.
🔸An unfinished mess feels worse than any slow start.

I'm letting this slow beginning run its course. Things will get done. No resistance. No chaos. No overwhelm.

Plot twist: Sometimes a slower start sets up smoother sailing for the entire year.

This moment doesn't define what comes next. I stand exactly where I need to stand right now.

Starting slow might just be practice for becoming the person who achieves everything I want.

Real talk: January 1st? Arbitrary date. No cosmic rule says all goals must launch then.

You feeling the slow start too? Drop a comment and let me know if you joined the slow start club this year.👇

Wow hard to believe this is the last day of Self-Caremas. I’m off until January 5, 2026. Taking care of myself and enjoying Christmas with my family. Thanks for joining this series. It was so much fun putting it together.

✨Self Care Practice - Day 12

Find Inner Peace & Calm in Chaos

It’s easy to get wrapped up in our lives and let the world’s stresses take over.

Our world has become so fast-paced that it’s hard to keep up. If you don’t stop the chaos, it can feel like your life is falling apart.

Good news: you can manage these overwhelming feelings and bring order back to your life.

Any of the Self-Caremas practices can get ground and back to centered.

One of the best ways to stay calm is to focus on the present moment. Don’t dwell on past events or worry about future ones. Instead, focus on what’s happening right now and what you can do at this moment to make it better.

Meditation can be very helpful in bringing you peace and calm when it gets hectic and chaotic.
I have a 10 minute guided Calm meditation. Let me know below and I'll give you link👇

Self-Care: The Act of Acknowledging You Are Worthy of Caring, Love, and Respect

✨Self Care Practice - Day 11
Owning Your Worthiness

(you can replace God with Universe)
Have you ever felt like you’ve lost touch with your true self?

Like somewhere along the way, you buried your innate gifts and passions to please others or fit in? If so, you’re not alone. Many of us lose sight of our inner treasure, the unique Magical Essence that makes us who we are.

But here’s the truth: You are the perfection of God’s creation and the creation of God’s perfection. That alone makes you a worthy person. God created you for success.

You see, you come into this world with self-worth. As a creation of the Divine, your worth is inherent and unshakeable. No one can take it from you.

Self-care is a wide concept. Its main goal is to support your physical, mental, and spiritual health. Taking care of your own needs is key for wellness. When we focus on ourselves, we can give more to others.

When you practice self-care, you show kindness to yourself. You feel better. Your mind gains clarity, and this helps your relationships with others. Taking time for yourself shows that you are valuable and unique. You are worthy of love, care, and respect.

If you'd like the "I am Worthy" deep dive affirmation document just let me know.

Your Personal Self Care Plan

Ironically, we often abandon self-care just when we need it the most. When we feel overwhelmed, self-care often gets ignored.

Creating a plan will help you develop habits to make self-care automatic.

The 12 Self-Caremas practices can jump-start your self-care plan.

For self-care to work, it has to match your personality and lifestyle. Customize your plan for you. Make it fun.
Make sure you include body, mind and soul in your plan.

You can arrange your plan into daily, weekly, monthly and emergency actions.

Update your plan as needed. Expect your self-care needs to vary over the years and even day by day. Change your plans whenever you need to.

Be good to yourself and don’t lose the momentum from the Self-Caremas series.

✨Self Care Practice - Day 9
The Practice of Meditation

Meditation focuses on caring for yourself and showing love for yourself.

It can be very helpful in bringing you peace and reducing stress. Especially during the holidays.

Meditation doesn’t mean sitting uncomfortably and chanting like the monks you see in the movies.

Instead, it’s a comfortable and soothing way to calm your mind and bring the serenity you desire.
You don’t need to meditate in a dark room for 30 to 60 minutes either.

💥10 Minutes A Day Can Change Your Life.

I press the snooze on my phone and meditate for 10 minutes before it goes off again. This is before I get out of bed to start my day. Simple and easy.

These are four most common ways to meditate:
🔸Zen Meditation.
🔸Guided Visualization.
🔸Transcendental Meditation.
🔸Mindfulness Meditation.

You’ll discover many other ways to meditate too. You don’t need to stick with one method. Mix and Match and enjoy the process as you find what works best for you.

As entrepreneurs often struggle to sleep due to stress from our businesses.Especially stay up to catch up.
But good rest is key for creativity and decision-making.

✨Self Care Practice - Day 8
Sleep well.

Sleep provides a time for restoration and rejuvenation. Find the right hours of sleep that works for you. Anywhere from 6-9 hours of sleep.

Here are strategies to get a good night’s sleep.

🥱 Before Bed
🔸Pick a wind-down time. Same time each night. Guard it.
🔸Shut off screens at least 45–60 minutes before bed.
🔸Park tomorrow on paper. Write a short list. Close the loop.
🔸Skip late caffeine. Aim for none after early afternoon.
🔸Eat light at night. Heavy meals keep your system busy.

😴 Your Sleep Space
🔸Cool room. Slightly chilly supports deeper sleep. (around 65-68°F)
🔸Dark room. Blackout curtains or a sleep mask help. This is the mask I use.
🔸Quiet zone. White noise beats random sounds. This is the sound machine I use.
🔸Bed = sleep. No work. No scrolling.

TV in the room? Turn off the television if it keeps you up at night. (personally I won’t allow one.)

Developing a better sleep routine could be your secret weapon toward long-term health and success

A good night’s sleep is not a luxury. It’s a critical part of your self-care routine.

Many of us are hesitant to ask for help. We feel embarrassed or ashamed to ask. We think it makes us look weak or incapable. But, all of this is untrue.

Trying to do everything yourself is not self-care. It’s the opposite. It eventually leads to overwhelm and burnout.

✨Self Care Practice - Day 7
Ask for Help

The Most Courageous Self-Care Act is asking for help.

It might not be easy to ask for help, but it is smart.

You’re a capable person and can handle things on your own. But sometimes, you need help.
Asking for help is a great way to take control of, and responsibility for, your life.

There’s certainly no shame in asking for help.

When you’re uncomfortable and don’t ask for help, it’s usually because you feel unworthy. Perfectionism and Imposter Syndrome keep you from reaching out.

Asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.

Here are few self-compliments you can add to your list from yesterday:

🔸I am able to ask for help
🔸I allow myself to ask for help
🔸I am comfortable asking for help when I need it

Getting help saves time. Keep in mind that everything is faster with good help.

Getting help is a smart move if you value your time and yourself.

✨Self Care Practice - Day 6

Compliment yourself!

What are self-compliments?
Self-compliments are positive things we say to ourselves. They help us see our strengths, celebrate our achievements, and value our self-worth.

Imagine you were your best friend. What types of compliments would you give yourself?

Spend a few minutes looking at *yourself in the mirror* and let the compliments fly.

It’s a little awkward at first, you may even choke up and cry, but you’ll enjoy the results.

A key part of investing in yourself is to give yourself compliments!

In my book, The Journey to Me: Living a Life of Unstoppable Success, the main character, Marie, seeks her true self. She learns to embrace and love every part of who she is.

These are some of the self-compliments she used.
🔸I have unlimited potential
🔸I am worthy because I exist.
🔸I am brave
🔸I am good enough
🔸I am willing to see my own magnificence.
🔸I am a natural winner.
🔸I love myself totally in the now
🔸I am perfect exactly as I am
🔸I am Unstoppable… Fabulous… Unstopulous!!!

Come up with ones that resonate with you.

Feeling a little resilience saying this to the image in the mirror?

Use the words I decide, I choose, I believe before each self-compliment

Giving ourselves compliments helps us tackle life’s challenges with a positive outlook.

Why not make everyday a Compliment Your Mirror Day!

Which self compliments did you give yourself? Let us know below👇

Unplug Yourself from Technology

Want more free time to take care of yourself? More free time for the things you enjoy? Keep reading…

These 12 Day of Self-Caremas practices will help you soothe your mind, body, and soul, contributing to joyous and fulfilling days.

Self Care Practice - Day 5

Unplugging is another wonderful way you can take care of yourself.

Using technology wisely helps you enjoy its benefits. It's also important to find balance so it doesn't affect your well-being.

Give your mind a break from the digital world each day.

Unplug for at least an hour each day. If an hour is too long for you, start with 15 minutes and build up to an hour.
Turn off your phone.
Close your laptop.
Turn off the TV.

Instead:
🔸Practice mindfulness
🔸Do body movement (see day 2)
🔸Go for a walk,
🔸Read a book,
🔸Meditate
🔸Enjoy one of your creative outlets
🔸Talk to a real, live person.

By unplugging, you recharge your brain, reclaim your time, boost your well-being and reconnect with the most important aspects of your life.

Sounds like a great way to take care of YOU.

“Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.”
- Anne Lamott

Go ahead and give yourself permission to unplug. You’ll be glad you did.
