Leaders are being tasked with "fixing culture" while also managing layoffs, hybrid work, burnout, and the rapid pace of AI development.

The reality is that many "people problems" are actually systems problems. Loneliness is one such issue. In the workplace, it manifests as low engagement, increased friction, and quiet withdrawal.

Black History Month offers a leadership perspective: when formal systems fail to provide safety or support, Black communities have historically built their own infrastructure—through mutual aid, shared responsibility, and intergenerational support. This emphasis on community is applicable to organizations as well.

I explored this topic in my newsletter and included a brief Organizational Resiliency self-assessment to help leaders identify the factors driving disconnection and determine where to intervene.

Loneliness is not a “soft” problem. It is a measurable risk factor for poor health and early death.

How does my body react to political news or conversations?

Political stress doesn’t just live in your thoughts—it lives in your nervous system.
It’s in the jaw that clenches when you hear another rights rollback.
The shallow breath when you think about your child’s future.
The exhaustion that settles in your bones after watching a debate or scrolling too long.

This week, notice what your body is telling you.

🌀 Where do you carry tension when political topics come up?
🌀 What emotions are underneath the physical sensations?
🌀 Do you freeze, fight, fawn, or flee?
🌀 What does safety feel like in your body—and how can you invite more of it?

Your body is not overreacting.
It’s responding to real conditions—and asking for care, not critique.

⚖️ ASWB Exam Tip: Ethics questions are about process, not just the “right” answer.

When you’re stuck between two choices, ask yourself:
➡️ What ethical principle is at stake?
➡️ What’s the least harmful course of action?
➡️ Does this protect the client’s safety, dignity, and autonomy?

Here’s a trick: The correct answer is usually the one that follows the Code of Ethics + minimizes risk—even if it’s uncomfortable.

✨ Our ASWB Study Notes Course helps you master ethical reasoning, boundaries, and decision-making tools
