I get why. When things feel heavy, the natural instinct is to bring in more help.

But most of the time, what I see behind the scenes is this: the business isn’t set up to support more people yet. There’s no clear structure, no defined workflows, and no consistent way of operating.

So instead of things getting easier, they get more complicated. More questions, more miscommunication, more things slipping through the cracks.

Hiring doesn’t fix chaos. It just makes it more visible.

A leader’s communication sets the tone for everything that follows. When communication relies on cursing, demeaning language, or putting others down, it doesn’t demonstrate authority, it signals a lack of control.

Strong leaders communicate differently. They are clear, direct, and respectful, even under pressure. They know how to set expectations, give feedback, and address issues without breaking people down in the process. They don’t need to elevate themselves by diminishing others.

Culture starts at the top. If leadership communicates with frustration or disrespect, that becomes the standard. But when leadership communicates with clarity, accountability, and composure, that becomes the standard too.
