I promised I’d keep it real with you all so here it is. MY personal closet.
Hangers don’t match. A donation pile the size of Mt. Everest. Not entirely “organized” as I would organizea client’s closet in terms of color or sizing.
I tried on every piece of clothing I own. If it made me feel ANY other way than “I love it,” it went to donation.
Why do we keep things that make us feel anything less than?
For me, in this season of life, that means the larger sizes stayed. The smaller pieces left. The style shifted, the fit changed.
I reorganized my drawers so that I can actually access things which meant getting rid of a lot of loved but used pieces. Yes, it’s hard even for me to get rid of that long sleeve that fits just right but has a few holes in it.
I’m a professional organizer but my place is no where near perfect. So I get it - how things get away from you. How kids take over. How exhaustion creeps in slowly until it consumes.
How you present yourself shows up in more places than how other people look at you. It’s how you feel about yourself. What you will and won’t accept. How you carry yourself. Who do you want to be?
So when ya’ll (and I do mean you ALL), tell me how embarrassed you are at how far things got away from you - I’m human too. Things get away from me, too.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t reset. I just make it that much faster and easier 😉 My brain is meant for just that.
Never hesitate to reach out if you’re feeling overwhelmed. I’m here to help 😘
