As the artist behind Sweet & Shiny, Elaine Li brings her fine arts background in glass from into the world of cake design—using the same attention to form, light, and detail to create edible works of art.

Over the years her work has quietly appeared in some remarkable places. She was the featured cake artist during the Columbus taping , crafted an 80-pound Brutus Buckeye cake for , and even created commemorative cookies celebrating Team USA men’s hockey’s Olympic medal.

Yet despite the national moments her work touches, Elaine remains deeply rooted right here in Columbus. This month she will also be participating in the Indianola Art Exhibition, a community gathering of local artists that reflects a growing vision to shape the Indianola corridor into a vibrant arts district within Clintonville.

We’re proud to recognize Sweet & Shiny as a Legacy Member of the Clintonville Area Business Association—and proud to see artists like Elaine helping bring creativity, culture, and connection to our neighborhood.
