✨JOY✨

This season has been all about doing the things that bring me joy and saying yes to joy without thinking twice. And guess what? ITS FREAKIN FANTASTIC!

I’ve cut things out of my life that were stifling my joy, leaning hard on my faith, spending more time with those I love and being consistent in the areas of my life that make me the best version of me.

I’m perfectly imperfect and celebrating it every step of the way.

Who here is a working mom? 👋

Hey friends 😍

Whether you are a small business owner, in a part time job or full time career making it all happen- I see you!

It brings my heart joy to see more and more women talking about real life struggles and real time happiness. This life is FULL of ups and downs and it is up to us to support each other.

From the planning of meals, the laundry, the activities, the meltdowns, the “did I forget to turn off the stove?” Moments- we have all been there.

One thing I’ve been more focused on lately is time to just connect with my kiddos and nature and making it a priority. This morning may not have been perfect but it was filled with fun, adventure, friendship, muddy boots, creek soaked pants and smiles from ear to ear. I’m willing to slow down for allll of that!

What is something you love doing with your family or kids? 🥰

Rooted for Women has been one of the most fulfilling journey’s I’ve been able to have as a business owner.

Thinking outside the box as we navigated and created its purpose and the value it could provide. Every meeting is intentional, every pop up is goal focused with support for the businesses we partner with, every workshop answers problems we face in our daily business, each networking event is filled with connection and support, and the conference… you just wait and see 😘

I’m so proud of our amazing team, their big hearts and the strengths the each possess that keep Rooted grounded and growing: and our newest team member ❤️

A simple grass roots meeting where you can bring your coffee, connect, set goals, have accountability and just talk about your business with other female owned businesses. See this little girl right here?

It’s me.

Growing up in a small town surrounded by nothing more than small family owned businesses, truly had an impact on how I looked at the World growing up. Everyone working together, sharing their talents, bartering and supporting each others families was everything. I dreamed of the day I too could run my own business and have a direct impact on my community.

My very first “business” was this hand made lemonade stand that I begged my mom and dad to help me build. I dreamt it up and My dad found scrap wood to build it and my mom took my guidance and used her art skills to draw my signs and bring it all to life! With the support of my mom and dad and a lotta love, my little lemonade stand came to life. (Mind you, my dad worked extremely long days to make a living for our family at our own family business. I realize now, the fact that he found time to help me with this project, was a true sacrifice and outpouring of love- thanks Dad ❤️)

I knew from a young age what entrepreneurship meant and I loved the hustle. I went on to work at almost every one of those small businesses uptown and even babysat most of the kids in our town as I loved people and was determined to learn the ins and outs of small business. One thing I learned growing up and something they don’t teach you in school is that kindness and humanity for your fellow community members will always win. It’s not always about the money, it’s how you treat people.

I then worked my way up the corporate ladder and after our first daughter was born, decided it was time to have my own business. Take Root Consulting. I now get to use years and years of hands on experience combined with education and leadership to assist many other small businesses and my heart couldn’t be more full. I too get to have a direct impact in my community.

Growing up we didn’t have much, but looking back, I had it all in that one Lemonade Stand with a family and hometown who will always be there to support me❤️

❤️Quality over quantity is what you will find with anything I put my heart into and I hope it shows!

❤️Creating community and bringing people together is also a big love of mine, which is why I created . If you are a woman and looking for connection, education, or just a good excuse to get out for a few hours here and there, I recommend you check us out! Our team and our “buds” are the best around and the women who are part of Rooted want to support you and it shows at every event ❤️ It wouldn’t exist without them- Rooted is for women by women in all stages of life and backgrounds! Can you tell how much I love it???

❤️ I love singing and all kinds of music- I’m definitely that mom who loves worship music but might get caught pulling up in the drop off line blaring “yea buddy rollin like a big shot…” IYKYK …While both kids are dancing like crazy🤷🏼‍♀️

❤️Though I love supporting small businesses in all stages, I created my business 5 years ago to give me an outlet and to be able to grow slow and steady as I drifted through the different seasons of motherhood and life… and here we are! I’ve assisted over 500 small business owners and communities and I can’t wait to see what’s next!

Life these days looks a little different…

5 years ago I thought I was well on my way to being in the highest corporate career opportunity yet, jet setting all over the World with no sight of slowing down.

Then I became a mom.

As maternity leave drew to a close and I returned to work, the thought of leaving my baby girl I had prayed so hard for, after losing 2 babies prior, I just couldn’t deal. The thought that God blessed me with her and here I was dropping her off at someone else’s home 5 days a week wrecked my heart.

We did the math and just couldn’t swing me leaving my job. Until I had no choice when we found out 2 months after returning to work that I was pregnant again. EM was only 5 months old- we were in complete shock. Excited but shocked. How on Earth was all of this going to work? Then at 10 weeks pregnant, while I was driving home after work to pick Em up from the sitter, I felt this stabbing pain in my right side and started bleeding. I had an ectopic pregnancy. I spent the next week in and out of the hospital while my amazing OB team worked to save only o***y and fallopian tube. They did it!

The next week when I was supposed to start back at work, still stricken with grief, I fell to my knees in the bedroom and prayed and cried asking God what I was supposed to do, I remember screaming, “why would you take another baby from me? What do you want from me?” I had cried myself to sleep when I heard His voice come over me and say “Trust”. I was mad.

Trusting what you cannot see is hard. I struggle everyday. Thinking you have control over everything is a cute thought but not realistic. My life has been full of what a lot of people would call set backs but I’m here to say it was God reminding me to Trust.

I quit my job with no financial plan but I had food shelter and a whole lot to offer. I started my business with no immediate clients but I was determined. I was considered unable to carry another baby but we now have 2 amazing children.

Life is tough and it sure looks different these days, but I am here for all of it, even the not so shiny parts. There will always be a glimmer, you just have to Look harder and Trust❤️

A simple gesture can go a long way…

This card came from my dear friend ❤️

So often we get caught up in the hustle and bustle and just try to get through the day. It is easy to forget others or to make a quick gesture by liking a post or sending a text. But what we are all wanting and the missing piece to a lot of interactions today is intentionality and genuine connection.

I could care less about my birthday bring recognized but This card took a thought that turned into a heartfelt action and I will never forget how it made me feel to open this card and see the intention and feel the joy.

Thank you for your sincerity! Don’t ever change! You have a heart of Gold that will never fail you! I cannot wait to see what we do together for 🥰 and I’m So happy we met!

This lady right here 😍

She embodies everything that stands for! We met standing outside of our daughters school slowly making small talk each day. Our bond grew and then one day we realized we shared a love for supporting women in business. I brought her along for a client shoot and then she quickly volunteered to help with the launch of Rooted for Women. My heart is so happy we met and I can’t wait to see the great things she does in her business this year😍 thank you, I love you and always rooting for you sweet friend ❤️
