Let’s talk about some leadership myths that quietly keep women nonprofit leaders exhausted:
✨ “If you care, you’ll give more.”
✨ “Strong leaders push through no matter what.”
✨ “Setting boundaries means you’re less committed.”
None of these are true.
Caring doesn’t require depletion.
Strength includes rest and reflection.
Boundaries protect your capacity to lead well.
Leadership that costs you your health or identity isn’t sustainable—and it doesn’t have to be the price of making an impact.
Which of these messages were you taught early in your career?
