Sometimes we get so busy that we can forget to appreciate the beauty of small things. Our visits are taking our team across 7 states and 4 time zone changes this week, so it was a welcome reminder to stop and soak in the colors of fall when we stepped onto a site this morning!

What are camp leaders seeing, feeling, and thinking about right now?

We recently brought together a diverse group of respected leaders from across the camp industry for a conversation we called a Leader's Snapshot.

We talked about where leadership energy is going, the tensions camps are navigating, and what feels hopeful as they look ahead. The goal was simple: bring multiple perspectives together and listen for the threads that might help strengthen all of our work.

Back of the napkin math can be surprisingly powerful.

During a conversation on a recent site visit, a camp leader shared the operational challenges they were feeling. Ryan pulled out some paper and did some quick math. It confirmed what the director was feeling but also gave clarity on how to move forward.

No elaborate model. Just the right numbers and the right questions.

This was our last camp visit this summer. We are launching planning at Camp Korey in Washington. Joy, laughter and hospitality were all in abundance! This will be an amazing project working with Korey leaders this fall!

Ryan ended up in Arkansas had the chance to swing by and see old friends at Ferncliff last week. It was great to see Joel and his team hard at work in the camp season.
