Did you know that the National Day of Encouragement was started in Arkansas? A group at Harding University in Searcy, AR proposed the idea to then Governor Mike Beebe who signed a proclamation making September 12, 2007 the "State Day of Encouragement" for Arkansas. Later, President George W. Bush made September 12 the official National Day of Encouragement.

Through the years I have discovered that Encouragement is one of my God-given gifts. When I am encouraging others, I am at my happiest. I've learned this through Coaching others. When I am pointing out someone's strengths to them, especially when they are unaware of them, I know I'm working in my zone of genius. It's not fluff, not artificial. It's truth.

Consider sharing an encouraging word with someone today. You may never know the impact you've made in their life.
