USSVI 2026 National Convention

10/19/2026

Here's Charles, Ceil, and Jodi at our bag packing party. What you see here is Ceil celebrating the last bag and trip around the table and Jodi being sad he doesn't get another trip around the table. Funny story is as soon as we celebrated being finished with this job we realized we forgot to put the patches in all the bags.🙁🤫

More of our crew! Sea Turtle Base members, Pete and Rose Nepa along with Jodi and Alma Baque. You may have met them when you were checking in. They spent a lot of time at our Welcome Desk!

Meet a couple more of our crew, BJ and Barbara Boyle from the Dallas Base. BJ and Barb were deeply involved in planning and volunteering during the week. You probably saw them either at the registration desk or going in any of our catered events. One of the best parts of this years convention was the support we had from all 8 of the Texas Bases.

Meet Zane Brown, Sea Turtle Base VC, tour leader, Welcome Desk Crew, and Patriot Guard Flag line participant at our Tolling Ceremony. If something needed to be done Zane was on it. Hopefully you got a chance to meet and say hi to Zane during the week.

Meet Oscar F. Chaparro . Oscar worked diligently behind the scenes for the last 18 months keeping us all straight and honest. He was our treasurer for our convention. Much of his work was never seen but the fruit of his labor was certainly seen during the week of the convention! Thank You Shipmate!

Well, it's been a while since our last post. Now that the dust has settled, we will share out a few pics from this years convention over the next couple of weeks but then be taking down this page. Wanted to share this video out today of the Tolling Ceremony held onboard the USS Lexington Museum. Big Shout out to the CORPUS CHRISTI MUSTANGS and BlueForge Alliance for their support to make this happen. Not only was the event highly successful but we were able to donate back $8500 to the City of Corpus Christi Sail fund and the USSVI Charitable Foundation. Thank You to all who made this possible. Here is the full ceremony video.
