This week’s focus: That musty washer smell.

If your washer has an unpleasant odor, it’s often caused by trapped moisture, detergent residue and body oils that build up over time. But don’t worry a few simple maintenance habits can help keep your washer fresh and performing efficiently.

🤔 Did you know? Vinegar was commonly recommended for cleaning washing machines, but some manufacturers now advise against using it regularly because its acidity may contribute to wear on certain rubber seals and components over time. For routine maintenance, it’s best to follow your owner’s manual and use a manufacturer-recommended washer cleaner when applicable.
