Police say that the tow truck struck the man while turning from Murfreesboro Pike onto Fesslers Lane around 5:30 p.m. Monday. In a press release MNPD shared that investigators believe that the driver of the tow truck couldn't see the man crossing the road due to the size of the vehicle. They added that the pedestrian is believed to have been crossing the road during a Don’t Walk signal. "

" NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A pedestrian is dead and a road is temporarily blocked following a crash in South Nashville Tuesday evening.
According to Metro Nashville dispatch, the incident was reported at the intersection of Fesslers Lane and Murfreesboro Pike at approximately 5:38 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
A Metro Nashville Police Department spokesperson told News 2 that a wrecker turning left onto Fesslers Lane hit a man — identified as a 68-year-old from Nashville — who was walking. He reportedly died at the scene. "

" SPRINGFIELD, NJ — The Springfield Township Committee introduced an ordinance Tuesday that would reduce the number of mandatory towing licenses issued by the township from four to two.
Township Attorney Kraig Dowd explained that the ordinance corrects a citation error in the code and updates the number of required towing operators. “This is narrowing the number of mandatory towing licenses from four down to "a more manageable number" of two at the recommendation of the police department,” Dowd said. " SEATTLE — Seattle police arrested a woman after officers said she tried to drive away while her car was hooked to a repossession truck, damaging the towing equipment and leading to a confrontation with the driver.
The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. Aug. 26 near East Fir Street and 11th Avenue in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood, according to a police report.
The repossession driver told police he located the woman’s car and began loading it onto his truck.

" WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Nearly four years after Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Deputy Sidnee Carter was killed by an impaired driver, the community is finding new ways to honor her memory.
Pinky Tows, a towing company in Augusta, recently made a tribute for Carter on one of its trucks.
Caleb McElroy, the owner, was a former classmate of Carter’s at Augusta.
From kindergarten to senior year, McElroy experienced Carter’s love for people and says he wanted to expand on her legacy while shining a light on a tragedy that affected so many.
“I wanted to do something to spread the awareness of what one poor decision can make to get behind the wheel under the influence,” McElroy said. “And the lives that can be changed forever by making that decision” "

" GASTON COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A local tow company based out of Lowell is accused of illegal towing practices and is set to go to trial, court records show.
The City of Gastonia filed a civil lawsuit against Jack’s Towing and Recovery Service, LLC on March 20, alleging that the business conducts trespass tows from private parking lots and wouldn’t allow customers to pay with a credit card.
The complaint details several incidents where the company, owned by Marshall Gregory, allegedly towed from private properties across Gastonia, including a church, and required the owners to pay in cash. Social media posts report that they were charged over $1,000 by the business to get their vehicle back. "
