I enjoyed some relaxing lake time this weekend and even took an extra day off yesterday to read a book lakeside in the sun for a few hours. Today I'm wondering where the sun went again.

I am doing a safety presentation next week for the Plum Creek Quilters Guild. Stay tuned for a special collaboration coming up on May 30 in Lexington. It's a fun safety event with another local business. Details to come.

Repeat child predator held on $1.25 million bond.

In the middle of the night, Omaha police were called to two homes after reports of a naked intruder inside.

In one case, a 9 year old child woke up to find the suspect in their bed. The child screamed as the suspect pinned them down.

A family member entered the room and found the suspect at the foot of the bed with a bottle of water and lotion.

Lavern Scott, 65, is a convicted s*x offender with a long history of noncompliance. He has prior convictions for registry violations in 2017, 2018, 2022, and 2024, totaling 2,777 days out of compliance.

This is why repeat offenders must be taken seriously.
