I would just like to take a moment to share a situation that we were just brought into the middle of.

I received 2 phone calls within an hour of each other regarding a situation with someone whom was not our customer.

The first call was someone with a general question regarding a yellow jackets nest. They were told by their pest control company that the only way for them to treat the nest was to come into their home, seal up the room with tape and plastic the way a contractor would doing construction in a finished home. And remove the drywall to treat and remove the yellow jackets nest and the competitor gave them a quote for over $4,000 to perform this service. And apparently their rep was being very pushy trying to get her to sign the agreement. I asked a few questions, discovered that the home had brick out front and explained to her that we can dust the void and it will eradicate the nest inside the wall without requiring an expensive deconstruction bill. Our charge to treat the nest and then seal the opening from the outside is $175. She was shocked at the difference in price.

She then calls the competitor back and gives them an earful regarding the fact that they have the audacity to try and pull this kind of nonsense on their customers whom they've used for over 15 years!

Then the Manager of this competitor turns around calls and proceeds to yell into the phone regarding how we are out here low-lying services making it difficult for other pest control companies to do things the right way.

I will not elaborate any further on how this conversation ended, but I wanted to say this...

Not every problem requires an amount so high that you need to spend your families Christmas and vacation money to fix! Companies such as the one that created this issue are the reason so many have a level of distrust regarding pest control companies and if you are reading this, I hope you see this post because as long as I am the owner of this company we will continue to provide outstanding service to the state of Georgia at fair prices using honesty and integrity and will not be threatened or bullied because you have a large brand logo behind you.

Also, our phone calls are all recorded and a copy of the call has already been downloaded and is going to be forwarded to your main office so I hope you enjoy the aftermath because you have done this to yourself!

I have been saying for the past 2 years that these large brands are lying to you, manipulating you and scaring you into paying for services that either do nothing for you or are ridiculously overpriced based on the costs of materials and labor. The more you use them, the more you feed their greed and this is a perfect example of what happens when you put your faith and trust in a corporation rather than a local family owned company!

Its that time of year!

We've been getting more and more calls for rodent control in the past few weeks. One of the most commonly overlooked items done by cheap wildlife companies is the ridge cap. The ridge vent is made of plastic. Over time it warps and shifts as the roof line heats up and cools. If a wildlife company isn't shielding this area, you are wasting your money. They can and will chew through it!

You can see in the images below a poorly installed ridge vent that has contributed to rodent activity in an attic.

One of our competitors inspected this home yesterday. Quoted the homeowner a bait station install and told her they didn't see issues in the crawlspace...

Moisture levels are elevated. Crawlspace vents are unservicable and no v***r barrier present. Not only did we count a total of 14 termite tunnels extending up the foundation wall, there are also powder post beetles present.

This is exactly the reason you can no longer trust big pest control companies to do their jobs and take care of customers.

Their quote to install bait stations was not only ridiculous, it didn't encompass the full scope of work to be completed to address their issues.

Needless to say, we will be going back next week to tackle this monster and put an end to their crawlspace issues and protect their home moving forward!

While this picture isnt the greatest, its only Tuesday and we've already found some pretty wild activity (pun intended)

We are often asked why we don't post more photos of our general pest treatments. That answer is fairly simple.... our hands are usually full when doing these treatments so as to always provide a thorough and detailed service.

Inspections on the other hand, we typically take pictures of issues to provide to customers as evidence of activity.

"Once it gets too hot you don't see termites in Georgia."

Wrong again poorly informed technician for a big pest control company!

These were found yesterday in Cu***ng.

Termites will continue to invade structures and feed all year long. When the temperatures and moisture are like what we have been experiencing lately they are the most active. The reason being is they depend heavily on high moisture content. So when ambient moisture conditions remain elevated, you are far more likely to see them in exposed areas in your yard as well as on your home.

In the past week we have done several inspections behind competitors who told home owners they had no issues. Closer, proper inspections performed by us determined these companies are no longer doing proper inspections, they're just trying to make a sale.

They often don't inspect the entire home, they don't look at the wood to ground touching the structure and they don't bother to check everything around the foundation inside or out. They have also been caught not moving insulation out of the way to do a proper inspection.

These items are essential functions of a proper inspection.
