It’s time to make an announcement that is VERY bittersweet to me: I’m Officially Retiring from Photography!
****[This is a LONG post, please read until the End….there’s some important information regarding past customers negatives from portrait sessions]****
I am BEYOND blessed that God gave me the talent and ability to have this incredible career for over 23 years!! The memories, the laughs, the tears, the fun, the adventures have been such a huge part of my life, but the relationships I made along the way, some who are truly my dearest friends, are definitely what I’ll hold in my heart forever!
I’m so thankful I was able to have a career where I could raise my son Chase as a single mom. The memories I have of him being at my studios after daycare and Elementary School to seeing him after coming home from High School while I worked from home were nothing short of PRICELESS!
Many of you knew my precious mom, Miss Pat/Mimi, while she helped me with sessions and my business, all while continuing to be the ABSOLUTE BEST wife to my dad, mom/mother-in-law, and when it came to being a Mimi, her 3 grandkids (and eventually their spouses) and 2 great grandchildren they literally hit the Lottery!!!!
Almost 3 years after my dad passed away, she went to be in Heaven with him. We miss her (and my dad) terribly but I’m so thankful we got to work together for all of those years and got to know each of you and your children. Oh, the things she would do to help get a smile with the kiddos....bopping me on the head with the “squeaky hammer”, making silly faces or sticking leaves in my hair….we all had SO MUCH FUN capturing a moment in time!!!
For those of you who don’t know, after many changes in my life and months of prayer, it was time for me to move FORWARD, so I’m in the process of moving to Dallas to be near Chase and his beautiful wife Katie! I’ve been blessed with a new career that I started 3 years ago and thankful to have been able to transfer within my company to make this big move!! ((Remember, I’m a native Houstonian so this is a big step for me!!!))
****IMPORTANT****I have A LOT, I mean A LOT of boxes filled with a lifetime of negatives from the beginning of my career in 1996/97 until around 2005, when I turned to digital. It’s time for those negatives to go home to everyone instead of me continuing to keep them in storage, plus those bills are starting to add up!! I will be in the Houston area THIS WEEKEND and will be setting times up for Saturday, 5/1/21 for my previous customers to come pick their negatives up! PLEASE MAKE A COMMENT BELOW this post, “INTERESTED” so I can get an idea of how many people I’ll be making appointments for. I’ll be sending more details of sign ups for your pick up in another post. As hard as it is for me to do, if your negatives are not picked up, they will be destroyed. If you know of someone who was a previous client who is not on Facebook, please feel free to contact them to give them this information and you’re welcome to pick their negatives up as well. If you need them mailed to you, that can be arranged, I can let you know the cost for shipping and supplies. If you have and interest in your negatives being shipped, PLEASE MAKE A COMMENT BELOW this post, “SHIP”****
Thank you EVERYONE who gave me the opportunity to be a small part of your life through photography. Your support, encouragement and friendship made these years of my life so rewarding!! May God Bless each and every one of you and your families.
Much Love and Big Hugs, Wendy
