You may see folded clothes on a porch, but to our Washers, this is the moment they see their finished work on display. Each of them carefully curate these laundry-scapes & ask themselves, "What would I want to see when I opened my front door? How would I want to feel?". I love sharing delivery photos because I know this is how my team thinks...With you, your relief, & your family in mind.

When I look at this picture, I see a burden lifted off of a busy family. I see the relationship with them formed behind the scenes through prayer & friendly conversation exchanged. I see something that only could've been God's idea... Because I never could've written the "Salt & Light" story.

Better late than never...Our Washer of the Month for August is one of our newer team members, Estefania!! 🎉🥰

Estefania jumped RIGHT in from the beginning and took on a full-time client load like it was nothing. She’s a reliable team mate, communicates with excellence, and most importantly… her clients absolutely love her work!

She recently had a precious new baby and after taking a little time with her new addition, she jumped right back in and hasn’t missed a beat.

We’re so thankful to have you on our team, Estefania!! You work hard, take great care of your clients, and we appreciate you more than you know.🫶

Today, during homeschool planning, I was thinking about what kind of world I’m building & eventually will leave behind for my daughter. I imagine that I do my most impactful “teaching” by how I live my life in front of her.

What if today was it? What has she learned from me? What do I have to hand to her?

Looking at my life now, I can confess that it doesn’t feel like much.
Many days, I fall into the temptation to take on the imaginary burden of “doing enough”. So much so that it can overwhelm me & cause me to do nothing at all… But, I digress.🤪

Off of the top of my head, I have two things to hand her that are priceless treasures to me. Journals full of my process with God & my intensive desire to know Him. And a marked up Bible detailed with well worn paths that I’ve walked in the Word.

She’ll have learned that sanctification is a lifelong journey, not a sprint. And that scripture actually applies to life. It isn’t just something we read to start the day. By the power of the Holy Spirit, it’s meant to change us. It’s meant to inform the way we live. If you aren’t intentionally moving towards Jesus, you’re drifting.

She’ll also have learned to run to other comforts other than Jesus at times… Entertainment, social media, shopping, isolation, self indulgence. We all have our secret idols that need tearing down every now & again.

She’ll have learned to compromise. To walk through seasons where she finds herself neglecting devotion to the Lord & to fall into sin. To lose her temper… To just be wrong.

As painful as the previous two points are, even they can be worked together for good through exposure. Confessing to her when I’ve sinned, detailing what was taking place in my heart (in an age appropriate manor, of course)… In that, I’m equipping her to wrestle with the Lord & run the race well.

Our success in building a world for children is directly impacted by the degree in which we let them into ours.

How much of you does your child see? Any thought patterns or struggles of yours that they may need clarity on? Any lessons God is teaching you that could impact their lives? How do they see you spend your time? What are your habits and disciplines? What are you teaching them in the classroom of your life?

As we step into the school year, let this be a reflection for all of us. Let us examine ourselves & carefully study what kind of fruit is coming off of our lives, because those most precious to us are eating of it.
