During my Bible reading this morning, these two passages struck me.

Paul was speaking to Timothy here… Reminiscing on the reason why he requested that Timothy stay in Ephesus; To challenge false teachers. These were people who spoke with confidence, sounded educated, sounded right. But they were missing the point. And when your goal is living life in pursuit of God, you don’t reach the destination if you miss the entire point.

The Gospel doesn’t preach that if you have the right theology on the rapture, predestination vs. free will, young earth vs. old earth creationism, read only the KJV (the list could go on…) you’ll be saved. The message of the Gospel teaches purity in heart by knowing your desperate need for the Savior, a clear conscious through accepting the finished work of the cross & genuine faith in the promises of God for those who accept His atoning work.

As the ancient theologian, Rupertus Meldenius, said,
“In necessary things, unity; in doubtful things, liberty; in all things, charity.”

Let’s not be those who miss the point & busy ourselves with anything other than the message of the Gospel, running the race set before us & fulfilling the great commission.

Yesterday, we asked all the mamas on our team to share how becoming a mom changed their lives. We will share a few more of these testimonies throughout this week but today, we want to highlight our Washer & friend, Marissa. Here’s her story.❤️

“Motherhood came to me early at just 16 years old. I wasn't quite sure who I even was in the world and now was responsible for a baby girl.

She and I graduated together, got married together, etc. Since then my husband and I have grown our family by 2 little boys earth side and one sweet baby in Heaven.

Before becoming a mom I didn't have a relationship with Jesus at all. I knew of Him but didn't know Him. While in the midst of the worst post partum depression after my second kiddo I got invited to church and lunch afterwards. I'll be honest, I wasn't going for the sermon, I was going for free childcare and food. It changed my life forever.

If it weren't for motherhood, I don't know that I would have been able to find Jesus and I know for a fact that if it weren't for Jesus, I couldn't survive motherhood. My goal in life is to raise my kids to follow Jesus and hope that I show them the love and grace that Jesus shows us daily.”
