Heavenly Father,
I come to you in the midst of these devastating disasters, aware that our choices have played a part. I’m going to pray a bit differently than you may expect Dear Lord.
Please open the eyes of our leaders, businesses, and citizens to the reality that climate change affects all of us, regardless of where we live, how we pray, or who we vote for. These are not isolated events—they are catastrophic reminders of our shared responsibility.
We’ve known the truth for so long, Lord. Your creation, the scientists you gifted with knowledge and insight, warned us. They’ve been warning us for years…
But we ignored them. I regret that we didn’t listen when we had the chance.
They predicted this would happen.
I’m sorry for the ways we’ve failed as stewards of this earth. You entrusted us with this planet, and we’ve neglected our duty. Our selfishness has brought us to this point, and now we face the consequences.
Forgive us, Lord, for putting our own desires ahead of the well-being of future generations.
Please guide us to make the right choices now, before it’s too late. Each of us has a role to play in healing the earth.
Help me, help us all, to reduce our impact and protect what’s left of your creation. I know I’m just one person, but I pray that together we can make a difference.
I lift up to you the scientists, activists, and policymakers working tirelessly to turn things around. Grant them wisdom, courage, and the power to inspire change. And for those in positions of power, I ask that you give them the will to act swiftly and responsibly.
Thank you, God, for this beautiful earth. May we honor it and you by caring for it, so that future generations can know its beauty and abundance.
In your name, Amen.
