She stopped bringing things up not because things stopped happening.

She stopped because the cost of being dismissed again exceeded the cost of being invisible.

Both costs are too high. She just picked the one that hurt less immediately.

You gave everything to everything. To every deadline, every relationship, every room that needed something from you.

And then you gave the scraps to the person who actually had to live inside your body.

She's not okay. She was never going to be okay on scraps.

03/22/2026

She's not lazy. She's post-depletion.

There's a version of tired that sleep doesn't fix. That's what twenty years of performing competence while quietly disappearing actually costs.

ADHD: Got overstimulated. Left the conversation. Came back like nothing happened.
Autism: Got overstimulated. Shut down completely. Is now in recovery and unavailable for 48–72 hours.
AuDHD: Got overstimulated. Kept going. Pretended not to be overstimulated. Is now in a shutdown that looks like a mood.

When she goes quiet, it's not attitude. It's her nervous system asking for what it needed 3 hours ago.

You're not hard to love. You're hard to love badly.

Those are not the same thing and the distinction is everything.

03/21/2026

She performed capable for so long that capable became the expectation, which ultimately became her cage. And then one day someone asked "what do you need support with?".

She didn't know, because no one had ever asked.
And she never gave herself permission to know.

03/21/2026

ADHD: Apologizes immediately. Moves on. Genuinely does not understand why the other person is still processing 4 days later.
Autism: Does not apologize until she fully understands what she's apologizing for. Which can take time. Which looks like not caring. Which is not the same thing.
AuDHD: Apologizes, then re-analyzes, then re-apologizes with corrections, then wonders if the first apology was enough, then apologizes for over-apologizing.

The repair is real. The process is just not neurotypic

Therapy didn't make you difficult. It made you done.

Done managing everyone else's emotions. Done shrinking. Done performing fine when fine was never true.

Difficult is just what regulated looks like to people who needed you dysregulated.

03/20/2026

The version of you that white-knuckled your way through every meeting and group project, she's exhausted. Cut her a check and retire her with full honors. She earned it!

03/20/2026

ADHD: "I'm fine." Is not fine. Has been not fine for 6 weeks. Forgot to tell anyone.
Autism: "I'm fine." I have assessed the situation and determined that disclosing the actual answer would take longer than I have capacity for right now.
AuDHD: "I'm fine." Translation available upon request. Conditions apply.

High-functioning means the outside still works when the inside has already filed for emergency leave.

03/20/2026

The ick you feel at the thought of shrinking again, yeah...that's data. Your nervous system finally knows the difference between a room that fits and a room that requires you to make yourself smaller to survive it.

03/19/2026

ADHD: Needs the why before she can do the thing. "Because I said so" is not an acceptable input.
Autism: Also needs the why. Plus the how. Plus confirmation that the how won't change mid-execution.
AuDHD: Needs the why, the how, written confirmation, and at least one contingency plan for when the first plan collapses.

This isn't resistance. It's a nervous system that learned the hard way that vague instructions are how things go wrong.

We Are Everyday Influencers!

Our team of writers are a little unconventional, and we're perfectly ok with that! Our writing style is in your face, a bit confrontational, far from boring, and very effective. The goal of WTI is to write copy that makes our readers slightly uncomfortable with not taking action (what ever the identified action may be). In the fast-paced, short attention span times we operate in...it’s important to write "Scroll Stopping" Copy that disrupts the reader's pattern and peak their curiousity. Yeah, that's what we do...disrupt and convert!

Contact us today to get a free clarity call to assess your current and future copywriting needs. Remember, Copy is the sizzle and your Content is the steak...no one wants to buy a steak that doesn’t sizzle! Let us help you and your team ‘Crack The Copy Code’!
